    Asus M4A89td pro/thuban 1090t fun

finally got around to throwing together my thuban and asus board for some fun.Decided to try the M4a89td pro board versus the chIV because the chIV seemed a bit buggy to me. bios 0901 is pretty good on this board compared to 0601 that the board came with. all benches are on chilled water with my slush box if anyone cares, thought i'de share none the less.

3d stuff is on 2 4870x2"s , sorry just links did not take screen shots. i might add some later if i improve my scores or i get new 5970's

good board overall, slight fluctuation in voltage and a slight fluctuation in core speed even with turbo turned off. needs another bios update to smooth it out i'm guessing. similiar but less severe bugs than the chIV it seems to me.

    thought i'd share, thanks all

Good to see you got the Thuban up and running EQ, great results

I haveen't tried the MB you're using but it looks good based on your results.

Yeah IMHO the CH4F is very good maybe as good or even better than the CHIII when using a dual or quad core but the Thuban/turbo core seems to being giving most of the bios people problems. I trust Bingo 13's guys are going to get this worked out though

thanks, i do hope they solve the bios issues though. the first bios on this board was so bad with the 1090t i was tempted to send the board back. cnq would not shut off nor would turbo. hard switch and bios settings for both did nothing. flashed it to the latest and solved all that. still see scary voltage jumps with llc turned on with both cpu and imc. 0.03 to 0.04 spikes scared me when i was already at 1.65 for the cpu in bios. real bad vdroop with llc turned off also. saw 0.1 drop in cpu voltage at 1.6 v . 4650mhz under load.
turbo off and cnq off. going to play some more with ram. these dominator gt's sure are nice.

this turns out to be the only board with the smart fan controller that looks use full.
I like the way you setup the ram:Nb:core ratio there.

This board has that deaded HT Fluctuation like the CHIV, one second it's at one clock, the next second it's 20Mhz higher.

Nice! I just picked up this board a few days ago and it's already clocking my 1055T 200MHz higher (benchable, probably not 100% stable).

The chiller must be doing a very good job holding the Thuban during the wPrime 1024M test. Nice tests results.
I'm starting to used to the twitchy clocks on the CH4F as it's kinda interesting not knowing what clock the bench test is being run at until the test completes or the system crashes

well it cooled off here so i thought i would play with the memory to see what i could get.
after studying theoldtimers posts i think i found my sweet spot on this board.
got a nice cpz valid while working on wprime to boot.

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1348036

could not get 6-6-6-24 to work the way i wanted so i went with 7-7-7-24
only went to 1.685 on the ram so im guessing i could get higher with more voltage. need to study more on that

also tryed cinebench 11.5 for the first time

this board and the 1090t are working out pretty nice. now that i know what the bios is doing , 1 more update asus for the fluxuations and it would be great.
