Pretty much average. Sometimes I see 14000+ DL and 2000+ UL.

Optimum Online Cable, Long Island New York. It costs $44.95 a month. I'm waiting for FiOS to get here.

Well USED to have decent ~4mbit down/300kbit up cable (comcast) but now am stuck with sprint EVDO rev A which keeps dropping out (when it works ~800kbit/down 100kbit/up). Unfortunately, no choice in the switch as Comcast canceled my service as "I was downloading too much" (about 200-300GB/month) they just summarily terminate accounts for at least 1 year to a particular address (and no, they won't even allow one to get a business cable line. ).

Unfortunately even here (subburb of chicago) I have only comcast and crappy sprint to choose from (well besides getting a DS1 installed but $400/month is killer for 1.5Mbit).

    Work: Fios 16/2

It is sent from the building owners residence to the work building 1 mile away via wireless G and roof antennas. It maintains about 10mb down and 2mb up He still thanks me all the time for setting it up. The fastest they normally have in that business park is DSL 384k/128k
