152 ms is pretty tough to play games on... though length of cable shouldn't affect it much.

My internet connection is Sprint EVDO Rev. A. It sucks, there's a 5Gb/month usage cap, and it's as expensive as my 6Mb/s Comcast Cable connection I used to have. I'll be running back to Comcast soon though... Days actually.

Here's my Sprint EVDO speed test.

Hey linux guy that sounds familiar. That is what my parents have at home. The speed isn't too bad for browsing and stuff (and I actually played some COD5 online when I had about 150 ping) but the 5GB cap hurts. I can use 400MB+ easily in one day if I'm not careful, and that is just doing typical stuff on the web. Yuck.

This is my speedtest from school when I'm on wired:

Not bad huh? Too bad they kick me off every morning so I have to reconnect, which is why I tend to be on wireless a lot which is much slower and congested during the day.

    6.0Mbps/512kbps DSL

Downloads from fast servers go around 300kbps, I usually get 200kbps+.
