The AMD freak goes Intel - E8700 LN2 "warmup" inside

After alot of nagging from my teammates, I tried this chip under Ln2 today. Expected 6.5Ghz max, after hearing about all the bad chips out there. This one turned out to be alot better than I hoped (feared):

Never mind the time, didn't even use maxmem... hehe.

WOW!!! I tried E8700 under LN2 one or two weeks ago and with 1,8V it hardly made the 6gig - seems that your chip is either a gem or E8700 only will work good on certain mobo

I'll try 01 later of course, but not sure I want to really max this chip on this board - this was really just a quick test to see what it was capable of Not sure I'm completely done yet, but it seems to get a bit harder to boot the system - ice everywhere

Edit: Vince doesn't know :p He's not online atm I think.

    Thanks, SoF.

That's a nice chip you got there!
Now, just forget 2D and go for the 3DM01. That CPU deserves to be used correctly
You are as good as your samples are!

Looks like a very nice chip

Do you have a Rampage Extreme to test it on?

I have a feeling the board can't take unlimited juice, going to try it on a DK P45 Plus later, or maybe REX

amazing job bruce! I made the switch back to intel in january. if you have a rampage extreme handy just go straight to that one. lets see what that e8700 can do on a real board.
no offence to DFI but i think this special chip needs a special board. nice to see one last shot on 775.

im not sure what youre status is but it seems like you are in the same shoes as me in january. to sum it up, if you wanna have some cheap fun just to get back on current intel again try this combo out. You will be amazed. sorry to derail thread. but this is good for dudes going back to intel using xtremecooling and want a quick cheap fix.

    VERY nice CPU my man

Need to get your hands on some nvidia love and hurt some peoples feelings in 01

ah.. i get the drift. thanks. I was loving the c3's while I had them but I bought a lsi raid card for my ssds and its just not a good match on sb750 so It was either blow the lsi or stay on amd. I had my fun this summer. hopefully they do better on the next chipset.
regardless. bruce managed to do some goddamn damage on -2nd gen hardware. this overclock is just handsdown amazing on every level. I just wanna see it maxed on the rampage.
