AMD has a Vision: The forthcoming notebook generation is supposed not only to be better than Intel's offer, but due to a new merchandising concept easier to recognize, too. PC Games Hardware summarizes the info about Vision, Tigris and Goldeye.

I really hope AMD can soon offer a good mobile platform. The one they are offering at the moment is a joke compared to centrino.

Even IF AMD can bring a better solution to the market, it will be very difficult for them. Centrino is a very strong brand, even most of my non-nerd-friends know it...

Regor loving on the mobile front

.These chips are just great,now we have a 2nd generation K10 done on 45nm SOI for all those performance freaks out there. Let's see someone says his AMD laptop is "slow" in multimedia stuff ,now that we have 128bit SSE and overal much much better uarchitecture than mobile K8

.Radeon HD4200/3200 is just icing on the DX10(.1) cake

PS For some hidden low power tricks one can always use great K10stat application and further undervolt his mobile Regor chip so that it draws even fewer watts.One can make 5 (IIRC) power profiles that work just like CnQ2 does out of the box!

Are those Turion II processors more efficient (performance/watt) than Penryn mobile Core 2 Duo processors? That's what I care about, especially for laptops.

I'll take quad core Neha for 45W thanks.

your missing the point, if its close amd wins since they have a usable IGP so they will have a much a better battery life with media since its not all on the cpu

I'm not... because if an Intel system is still more efficient at typical workloads (performance without sacrificing battery life) I'm going to buy it over an AMD system.

i get that it depends but with the current gen, core2 laptops v turion1, the turion gets better battery with video (especially dvd) playback, if amd drops the cpu wattage and makes it as fast as the phenom2 clock for clock, core for core with a good igp like the 785 i cant see intel being the best choice for most users.

on a pro intel note this should force those i5 laptops out so the same thing dosnt happen like the phenom2 were amd gets their name back

im not sure on that, my hp dv6 gets about 3 hours of dvd playback

if they are still 65nm then why do they bother, that 35W on 65nm will be some garbage performance. were is the half a p2, i know that i can get my p2 down to 8W in bios and a 30W increase on occt from the wall with 2.4ghz and 3 cores so why cant amd do that with a laptop part

. These mobile CPUs are 45nm products... Look it up on product page.

Nope, I've owned several AMD and Intel notebooks and I have never seen this happen.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but... should we believe you over Anand and other reviews that have shown again and again how Intel platforms have superior battery life over AMDs?
