Just re-ran my loop, changed the pump position and lots of small changes.

I've been thinking of sanding the tops of the blocks as well as the fan to give it the same frosted look that the rad shroud has, just dont know yet...

Go for it, and if anything should go wrong, Eddy sells loose plexi tops pretty cheap.

Did you bring the res tube in contact with rubbing alcohol or alcohol-based cleaning agent?

Plexi can lose its structure and decompose if this happens.

I set the front of my case on a book so it is a few degrees up. It will help the air go towards that direction.

Works pretty darn well for me!

I love the 690. I really need to redo mine. Must. Finish. Raven. First. GAH!

I hope you had fun putting that all together.

I think the big part was the fact that my tube routing was all kinds of stupid. Before I got the EX x-res combo res/pump top i had the old res up against the back wall in front of the expansion slots. The tubing was causing the the res to lean up against the wall with a bit of pressure. It lasted for ~2 years like that.

It's possible that I overtightened the res as well. Should have known as we have field service guys at work that get chewed out for overtightened plastic fittings all the time.

And what he said, looks great.

Personally I've got a 690 in the mail to upgrade the wife to a i7-860 while I wait for my chance to get a 980x
