8k3a vs KX7 a test

can anyone post a bench done on abit kx7 with a ti4200 clocked 300/600 so then ill post a score done on my 8k3a to compare both

settings


cpu and fsb 166x11 - 1833mhz

win2k sp3

rivatuner lodbias set to 4 ,vsync off ,prerender 3 ,textures force level 0 ,disable fog table emulation, and disable antialiasing


and don´t touch anything else

about performance


tweak the bios and wpcredit as much as you can


dont pause between tests

ps:someone can always try to beat my 3dmark score with the same clocks on a kx7

I just blew a 12,469 with the specified settings, but Ti4600 clocked at the required matching speeds. I don't have a nic installed so will post up my score with a link in a bit

Interesting Ultra made no difference on the AT7.

Are you using the 9K bios or 7M?

I'm using the 9K equivalent on the AT7.

everything done as stated no OS tweaks just the rivatuner and then performance tweaks (bios & wpcredit)

I think that the ti4600 advantage of having 128mbs of ram is giving those 200mrks (less stress on AGP)

(i know that in the "old days" 32m gts would lose 100mrks vs 64m gts)


my t4200 gpu is so crappy locked me two times at 300 in drago high , but managed to get through the third try

Yes but that is the Kiddies system that has an XP build that has been through a ECS K75SA, a Soyo Dragon plus, an Asus A7V333, and now an Abit AT7 so it is by now means anywgere near optimal for benching.

I may be able to get the KX7 fired up today but it looks like you already have your answer and it has a 4400 anyway.

Here you go guys...finally found time to get this uploaded for you.

All parameters set as defined by Skatan..except for the fact I'm using the Ti4600 set to his clocks. I acknowledge that there may be a performance difference due to the additional ram on the card

Only other difference is I switched drivers from my first bench...back to the 29.40's...still haven't found another faster on my system...29.60's didn't cut it. Heres the final tally

PS: Skatan..as far as Ultra....I can use it up to about 180-182Mhz...fast from there up thru about 210Mhz. Noermal from there thru 225Mhz withmy Sammy of course. Not sure yet where the Corsair XMS PC3200C2 will go until I finish burning it in.

my win2k died two days ago because of wpcredit testing

so after a fresh install new bios 2812+ wpcredit and 29.40

When I disabled L2 ECC correction on the KX7....my FPS scores in car and Lobby soared...from low 20o's to 215 in car low at 1695Mhz 8.5x199Mhz FSb. There was a substantial difference that I had not really realized previously on this board. I accidently had the ECC checking enabled as I had cleared the cmos previously and inadvertantly didn't set its parameter. As far as the 8K3A+...I loved the board but felt like it was being held back by reigns in 3DMark benching. Even when I had the bandwidth up to par...it still lacked in the FPS games car and lobby...closer in score Dragon and nature.
