I voted for the 4670, but are we sure it isn't bugged in '03 the way 48xx cards are?

+1 for 4670, just happen to have one on the way
Only used ATI once before so, it will be good learning experience for me.

    I like the idea of 3D05. How about AM3 also? Or 3D06? I don't mind 03 but I'm sick of 01 and a lot of us(me ) don't have E8xxx/REX rigs anymore.

I think AM3 is good too with 2k5 because we don't have to change cpu to reach good results but If we vote 2k6 we have to have a quad too.

AM3/05 works for me, I still get to use my quad AM3/05 will be such a quick benchmark session, nobody will have an excuse for not submitting results.

    3dm05 + Phenom II = fun
At least we will have different rigs in this competition, not just a bunch of E8600/REX setups.

It would be cool, E86 + REX combos are boring, If I would get a phenom 2 with a mobo and some litres of Ln2 I would push it to its limits, but untill then I have to use my boring E86+REX combo

What about limiting CPU speed? Something like THIS. But there was GPU limit...

    Agreed.

Assuming there will be 1 class in terms of cooling? I had to sell all my cold stuff due to job loss so I'm stuck on water or air

I think it's not a good idea because this is a weak vga compared to GTX285-295's and It would be less fun to OC it if there isnt enough cpu power. Maybe Im thinking the wrong way.. If it is true, than sorry.

I didn't say it's rationaly 'cause of the price. I meant that 4670 is clearly the best choice in terms of overclockability and fun involved with that precious little card

No CPU speed limit. That turns this into a tweak-fest, which makes it not nearly as entertaining. I plan on running dry ice on the card and at least cascade on the CPU In the end it won't matter that much though, I suspect an E8600 at 4.5GHz will max these cards out with a marginal increase in points from 4.5GHz to 6GHz.

Can I submit results In all categories, e.g with cpu/gpu aircooled and after that with cpu/gpu dice cooled?

I right now don't see anything wrong with this. Probably for the best to have the sub-ambient guys do both so we get some results in. Would hate for all of us to kill the cards on ln2/dice and have no results

Good, I like both decisions on that front

AM3/05 sound fun to me, I've NEVER even run 05 on an ATI card

Yeah this is the first reason why Im asking this, the second is because If 4.5ghz is enough as you said, maybe I won't put my cpu under cold because It can pass easily 2k5 at 4.5 so the only thing is to worry about is the card.

2k5 and AM3 sound perfect. Another question: When is the competition starting ?
