I Posted Another Option!
4670, AM3/05 works for me.
28 days until the poll ends. I'm pretty certain the HD 4670 will win unless something dramatic happens. I'd say after the poll ends it'll be roughly a week and then the challenge will start. 4-6 weeks challenge time like last time worked well.
HD 4670 appears to be a more powerful card at the same price. Also appears nobody pushed the card under sub-ambient cooling

I think that time table is way to long right now. People are excited to do this now, if we wait a month to start people will forget about it or lose interest. Why not end the poll on Wednesday? We've already got plenty of votes, and people seem to favor the 4670. If we end it on Wednesday people can go ahead and order there cards, get them early next week and the competition can run until whenever.
Also would it be possible(slash not too much work to set up), to use the hwbot competition engine for this? It would probably make the competition go a lot more smoothly than somebody having to spend there time updating standings.

Where courage, motivation and ignorance meet, a persistent idiot awakens.
we had a 9500 gt compo a few months ago, was funny, but the memory is qimondo ( spelled it right? ) which respond poorly on extra voltage. also, there is a huge difference between the revisions, i thought it was the B1 that clocked alot harder ( mem ). basicly, it's all about the mem, core speed above a certain point ( which everyone can archive ) doesnt help anything.
oh and, we ran 3dmark 01. and yeah, it has OCP
Looking into the HWBot Competition Engine for this challenge.
Stapler brings a good point. How does the 14th of September work for a start date for the challenge and the 31st of October as a finish date? Updated the first page with these tentative dates. This gives us 6 weeks to acquire the card of choice and benchmark it into the ground. I believe that is a sufficient amount of time. If nobody has any serious objections then the card in the lead by the start of the 14th of September will be the card of choice.
I've chosen the 14th of September as the next week is going to be hell for me with school
Sounds good. Looking forward to my first bench competition.
Dates sound good to me.
If you can't kill a card in six weeks, you're doing something wrong
You're too funny for words....LOL
probably time to do ATI for once

4670's arent $60 up here but I voted for them anyways
All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.
This could work out for me, after this competition maybe there will be a rash of 4670's for sale and I'll toss another one in my Lanparty Jr for CrossFire

well i will be like always in the air and water section. it seems like the dry ice and ln2 over here is hard to get, and i wanted a phase change kit of some decent level for about 2 years now. ah well
Im still a noob in the department of mods in my eyes. Do we know how many different types of pcb's we have or how strong the PWM's are on these cards? Analog or digital?
Just wondering cause the diversity of the previous 8400gs and 8600gt cards made it interesting.
and to the ddr2 qimonda stuff, i got mine to 1.2ghz. i quite liked it
nah....i am with the majority. Like my HD 3850 still idea, but HD4670 + 3dmark05 / am3. i will be 05. i like 03 but 05 is cool
