How do I crossfire the 5770 and 5870 together?

Both cards are 5000 series so they should Xfire.

you have to make it think that they are both 58xx or 57xx, and xfire since the hd3 only works with the same chips in the driver

HD5850 and HD5870 can be CFed quite EZ.

but HD57xx and HD58xx arnt nearly the same ... so CFing these isnt going to be good/easy

You need to have the same cores ( both being 5770s or 5870s ) to CrossFire them.

Everyone saying that you need the same video cards to CF are dead wrong. You can CF together a 5870 and a 5770, but it's going to all get clocked down to the lowest common denominator. On top of that, you won't see any performance gains, and most likely a performance decrease. Why would you want to indeed

So CrossfireX is not as good as its meant to be. I was told that you can crossfireX any 2 5xxx series card. clocking part isn't bad as they both run at 850mhz/1200mhz.

Thank you guys for trying to help.

if u spoof the device id from another card from the same generation in the driver ini it should work, but its not a good idea

u will get lower performance doing it like that then u would if u used 2 of the same 5770's the faster card has to ALWAYS wait for the slower card to render its frames b4 it can put them together, so in MAX theory it can only b as fast as the 5770 if u set it up with 2 dissimilar cards, whent he same cards r used u can get a perfomance gain but from everythin i have read 2 dissimilar cards r pretty much bunk to try and use, tho it CAN b done, the question is pretty much just wtf would u want 2
