Is 520Watt HX520 Corsair enough for I7 build?

OK so I have a Corsair HX520Watt power supply(i remember i payed big bucks for this).

Is this going to be enough for an i7 system + a Geforce 275GTX (or similar card), 1 Solid state drive and 1 or 2 sata HDs, and dvd drive?

Also I am overclocking .
Is it enough?

I got rid of mine.

Although I always found it to be a solid PSU, once you're running a power hungry set up, the fan runs consistantly higher and was too noisy for me.

Thats not to say the one I have now is (by any means) silent!

I have the HX520W and the GTX 275 in my 2nd rig and it works just fine. If you heavily OC your CPU then you might consider getting another, who knows if you might throw another GTX 275 in there for SLI as it's getting cheaper now.

I'd get another one. I think it would be barely enough. PSU efficiency degrades over time as well, remember that.

its better to have more overhead then run a 520Watt PSU at full load almost constantly.

I am going to go with either HX750 or TX750
or the 850, depending on price.

Is it worth it to go HX series again? I took my 520HX cuz I knew i was going to overclock a lot, (had 4.4Ghz E8500 running for a year at 1.4V)

Go with the HX850 if you can, I believe besides the modular thing it has better efficiency so once again, if you can afford it then go for it. Otherwise either a TX750 or HX850 should suit all your needs depend on how many video cards you run in the long term.

For what it's worth, my own rig:

i7 920 D0 @ 4.4GHz/1.35Vcore
GTX280 @ 700 Core
2 HDD's
4 water pumps
15 fans

While running OCCT's PSU stresser (Linpack+GPU stresser), power consumption from the wall peaks at 660W. Factoring in the 80% efficiency that my Ultra X3 1000 has been shown to have, the rig itself is demanding about 530 watts. Considering that this is a worst-case scenario under a pretty strong overclock, and that most overclockers are generally happy with 4.0-4.2GHz on their 920's, and that the GTX275 isn't nearly as power hungry as my GTX280, and that almost 100W of this can be attributed to the pumps and fans... you'd probably be just fine with that HX520. If you wanted a little headroom in the long-run, a 650 or 750W unit will be plenty.

If you going with a single card setup the 650tx would be fine .. anything more and I'd grab a 750tx ... and if you want even more later on, or just the head room the 850 would be good.

I'm running the 650tx and it's awesome so far .. but I'll never use more than a single card .. well i say that now ;d

As an alternative, and a very good one btw, the Antec True Power New 750W is on sale at Newegg for $99.99 shipped....down by almost $60 from normal retail prices, and it tested out as good as any of Corsair's TX line, at least. Don't think that for $100 you'd do any better at all.
