You should begin seeing both this board and the GENE shortly. I have had the chance to work with both of them and they have been very smooth in clocking. Of course I am not Xtreme like you guys but from the numbers I have seen internally I think you will be impressed. As for the heat sinks we are focusing on ensuring good quality cooling but without being excessive and putting cooling solutions that are not practical or impede your ability to mount different water blocks or heat sinks. P55 platforms really just tend to be much cooler than X58 even at higher frequencies, I have been impressed with the cooling and numbers I have seen. Everyone please enjoy the rest of your day.

Maybe its just me.. but why give a P55 chipset a maximus brand label? Seems kinda pointless as maximus is associated with nothing but the best (X58) which the P55, is not...

Isn't 'Rampage' the name Asus give their top end board? Ie: Rampage II Extreme (X58). I thought the P45 was a midrange chipset and they named the ROG P45 the Maximus II Formula. That was in contrast to the top end X48 with DDR3 (Rampage Extreme) and top end x48 with DDR2 (Rampage Formula).

In my opinion Maximus = mid range and Rampage = top end but maybe that's just me.

I do hope this M3F is not another M2F, ie: good looks, high price, average performance.

Not that I see. The M2F using the P45 was somewhat of a freak, all other P45 boards came under the P5 branding. I hope asus don't start churning out boards with a high pricetag (they seem to think the name asus warrants +£50 over other manufacturers), good looks, and a sub-standard chipset for the pricepoint and marketing it as "the best".
