We need some 80's C64 music in the background of this site, regardless what you click, that restarts every time you load a new link. Just to add to the quality of the favicon.

I wished I hadn't cleared my cache or ever asked wtf a favicon is.

Having a scrolling gif as a favicon is f##king retarded.

lol... yeah when I first put that bug there I kept getting comments about trying to kill it. Then one day there was this bug that kept getting on my screen and I'd swat at it, then I saw the one in my sig and swatted at it too, felt so dumb after that

Yes, I would really like to know this myself. I scrolled through all entries in the "blockable items" list but couldn't find the favicon listed anywhere. Adding the filter ||xtremesystems.org/forums/favicon in ABP didn't have any effect at all.

I can honestly say I will have to stop using this site if no fix is found one way or another. Can't you at least code a profile setting for this? Although some of you have been very arrogant and ignorant in your responses to my earlier post, this is a definite "deal-breaker" for me. Humans possess highly individual tolerances and filtering abilities in regards to noise, invasive impressions, visual stress, etc.

This is not a question of "taste" in my case. The only reason I dislike the new icon is because I find it incredibly obtrusive. You might as well have put a stroboscope there.

I like it lol. Previously i had default vbulletin favicon, which is pretty bad for me, since i already have couple of sites with that icon on my toolbar. (with only icons, no text).

So i'd say keep the new favicon, or if majority wants, make it non-animated, but please dont put up old "default" favicon.

    1. Grunge Typeface used for logo
    2. Forum is 100% width instead of fixed size causing the character amount per line to be grossly over what it should be (It should be 55-75 optimally but 75-90 seems normal. I am getting 230).
    3. I am not a fan of the typeface used for posts
    4. Color scheme
    5. The leading on posts makes blocks of text difficult to read.
    6. Ugly icons
    7. Links are not sexy

To me it seems like this site was just designed a while ago since these mostly seem like standard things people (including myself) did 4-5 years ago.
A large majority of things I see that need to be changed are CSS things.

Yeah, I'm going to have to vote no, as well. It's not that annoying having one small tab open, but I'm a very "inefficient" browser, and I tend to have dozens upon dozens of tabs open. When 50% of them are animated... it gets kind of annoying.

Has to be one of the most ing annoying things ever. This has to be some sort of social experiment, no web developer in their right mind would subject people to something so idiotic.

Found a temp solution (still trying to figure out a permanent one) by using this extension for Firefox.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2363

After installed go tools>pte>Hide Title. (or right click for the context menu) For text I just used a dot. Only glitch is you have to do this every time Firefox starts, it does not remember the state. Better than nothing for now.

Just stating my opinion. I find it incredibly distracting and needless. If the webdev insists on such a thing, at least make it animate for a few seconds then stop.

    1. I don't mind the logo. Its a lot more "modern" then what was there before.
    2. I sometimes like that its full width, other times I dont.
    3. Do you mean Font, or Typeface? There is a difference, either way I font the default font easy to read and distinguish between different letters.
    4. The blue/gray works good together IMO, the black on gray text is also extremely easy on the eyes, more so then black on white, while still keeping good contrast.
    5. ???
    6. Look fine to me? Small, streamlined and simple
    7. Who cares?

I agree a happy medium with the favicon would maybe to have it "blank" after the S in systems, then show "XS", and then have it scroll through again 30 seconds or so? I know you can set how long a frame stays up in Image Ready

You will stop visiting something you enjoy because of an animated favicon? Seriously, this thread is filled with so many whiners it's not even funny.

"Incredibly obtrusive"? you are that sensitive to a tiny block of animated pixels?

    I cannot grasp this concept.

You know, after spending some time with it, I'm not liking it much myself. Distracting a bit, I always think someone is messaging me on facebook, and it doesn't help that I have pretty terrible ADD.

If we just did the XS logo instead, that would be nice, and I could still differentiate between my tabs easier.
