jajajajaja
I had a 6800LE that realy kicked sum ass..
The pipes where all unlockable to 1.16x1.6.
Stock clocks on the thing where 300mhz core 700mhz mem (ddr1)
Mine did, with vcore of 1.35v 460 on the core and 980 on the ram. Thats allmost 1ghz ddr1. Who said 6800's didnt clock well
OT: Thats some sick modding, its been a while since I was last active here, but those compairisons with Hipro are not weird at all seeing your work.. :O

Some not-expected continue to this project :-D
Received two video's for repair yesterday, 9800GX2 (one of GPU's not detected) and 7800GTX 256 totally dead, "for parts"
First check of 7800GTX..
Huge hole in PCB, where one of MOSFET's was on GPU VRM :-D Wow...about 4 layers inside was just broken... Shortcurcuited 12V to GND.
Had to drill hole even bigger, to remove SC :-D
Next step...yeah, took 4870 DC-DC "piece of card" and set up 1.3 Vgpu, 2.2Vmem volts on it. Checked and hooked up, replacing stock power inductors.
Checks....Volts are ok...
Plugging 7800GTX Radeon Edition into test rig..
Beeeeep-bep-bep-bep.....Damn, no post, no VGA. Volts are just fine, it's not problem with them.
Had some thinking for hour or more...looked thru all the PCB, checked similar 7900GTX dead, no broken parts...
Then remebered, there is quite advanced PWM controller on 7800GTX-es, Primarion PX3535 3-phase. And it has Powergood signal like, to keep GPU in reset during power-on sequencing and stabilisation. Oh ,yeah, finding pinout of this PX3535, here we go...there is open-collector line with similar signal name. There is pull-up resistor to +3.3V just next to necessary pin. Measured voltage on it = yes, it's 0 V (Logic 0) here!. Cutting with knife that pin from signal, and again check...And YES, it's 3.3V now, Logic 1, Now GPU will think , "Power is OK" always :-D
Putting card to test rig....Beep.....WOW...even forget to connect monitor output ...Hooking it up and...
Welcome 7800GTX-256 Radeon power Edition :-D Worked without a single artifact. Will hook chiller cooling on card and change CPU to better, and will hunt some hwboints on it
Good luck with it, dude!

To make franky from GTX285 and Radeon 4870 :-D ? Yes, but I think shipping is too pricey.
I have some plans to make 1kilowatt DC-DC specially for powering videocards
Preparing videocard for ocing in RIGHT way
Cap mod done.
Man this is an awesome thread to follow, keep it up

System 2 (gf's):
CPU: i7 920 D0 currently at 4.2 GHz cooled by Noctua NH-D14 (needs more tweaking/testing)
GPU: Club3D HD5850 (awaiting OC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Memory: 6GB DDR3 Corsair @ 1600 MHz

GPU Cooler: WILO StarRS 25/4 + Zalman WB5 + Xtremelabs.org Extreme Chiller
I had only 3mm mounting stuff, so needed to drill videocard a little
Installed cooling, checked everything and fire all that stuff up.
Tuning voltages, VGPU to 1.75V, drams at 2.35V. Cooling down 10 liters of antifrezze with chiller to -20°C.
After few hours all pipes was frosty. I like frost Will insulate later ofcourse
CPU can do 4.6-4.7 at 1.7V (too much, but no go with lower volts ( in 3Dmarks. Card got 557/557/557 GPU clocks and ~1470 vmem. I was expecting more
That's not serious, will continue later.
Damn, you're the man!
Making fixes like that may not me practical in daily use but hell they must be fun when it comes to ocing
Btw i dunno it's just my opinion but might get better ocing results if you remove ceramic caps and replace them with ultra low esr RF caps, i mean really low esr caps. Friend of mine tested this idea couple year ago, took P4 board with bulged caps in cpu vrm, replaced them with ultra low esr caps which capacitance is only fraction from original also esr and esl, still that board works like charm
Btw no.2 i've one bricked X48 Xtreme from gigabyte, i've plans to turn to adjustable DC-DC powersupply for gpus, @ 1.6V 150A easily =P
