    3x4890 psu rec?

What power would i need to power 3 4890's
    Would probably do some overclocking

Not sure if im going AMD or Intel yet...

And for hardrives, just 2. 1 hd, 1 ssd.

    1 optical.

up to 8 fans possibly in a torture rack.

My Killawatt display peaked at 1025 watts with 3 HD4890s runing at 1000/1200 and a i7 920 OCd to 218x21 in my R2E during Vantage and 3DMark06.

850 might be cutting it close depending on your config, it may be working it near 100% capacity. If i7 with a few hardrives, pumps and what not I'd look at a 950-1000 watt. Enermax Rev85 1050, Corsair 1000, or so on....

Otherwise an 850-950 would be good, Corsair 850, Enermax Rev85 950

That is still ~800watts real load of the psu considering their efficiencies, although the killowatt is not always reliable way to measure.

BFG, Corsair, Enermax, PC P&C 1000W+

You only want to load to 60% norm.
