i've tried one msi retail board and max blck was 234 on air. Early sample of gigabyte p55-ud4 reached 239. I'll test retail now

Pt1t, vtt voltage on your watercooling tests?

since bclk is not the data path with 1156 there's no point of having it over 250 unless this is the only way to max your cpu
can it do at least 250x23 ?

Is that a UD6 or UD5? Any news on how the ASUS P55 boards compare??

today i do a quickly testing about some guys just like high multiplier
with intel turbo boost, 870 could have 26x with dual core, and 27x with single
core. here is a quickly testing to show if you want to manage some benchmarks

with turbo boost off, i7 870 native has 22x,
a quickly run 32m with normal clock, we just need to confirm if
turbo-multi is work in this testing.

    870 with 22x multi, around 4.8GHz, 32m done by 7mins & 43secs

now i boot with 26x multi, yup with turbo boost enabled in BIOS
    870 with 26x multi, around 4.8GHz, 32m done by 7mins & 44secs

yes, you could run higher multiplier with core i7 870
and if you are working in one core mode, max muliti let you go to 27x

now you have more choice with P55 oc platform, high-BCLK or high-Multi

Thanks to the high speed of taiwanese market (it's in black for a reason) i start testing Lynnfield with no NDA pressures

Someone with an H told me that the new version of cpu-z its bugged and above certain speed it doesn't report the real freq or multi.
So i show it with the set fsb window and i'll run it again later with an old version of cpu-z

    Core i5 750 (ES) @ 4645.5MHz

Click if you want the original print screen.

    On air...
