Okay I have my drive installed and the board is flashed to the unlock bios.
what is a good vcore to start with to see if these other cores will unlock? Are there any voltage settings you should just start with besides setting ht link to 1600 and acc to auto? Im assuming you need to give it a little extra juice for the other cores.

The 0819 official still needs improvement, S3 resume is very unreliable when unlocked and even if resume succeeds, this is what you see in Event Viewer. Looks like the OS seems to have problems communicating with the cores on resume resulting in failure (black screen) or such errors.

PcCI2iminal do you have a modded BIOS file for the Biostar TA790GX A2+ yet? 78DBA113.BST is the last one that will unlock my 720 BE which is ok but there's no support for the latest CPU's that unlock cores and cache. Thanks!

    Well done my friend! 6451.58 MHz (253 * 25.5) 1.79v!
cmon guys give Clear Cmos a pat on the back. he deserves it.

I've come to the conclusion that this x2 550 is not unlockable. Ive tried it all.
I guess I'll ebay it and try again..
btw are there any new AMD biostar boards we should be checking out? This 790GX A3+ was cool to get my feet wet with my 1st amd rig since 939 but id like something more crossfire friendly. the 16/8 is not cutting it.

    hows this?

S3 resume still not working on my mobo once my proven 550BE cores are unlocked.

btw, Microsoft also released a C1E patch KB974090 recently and this is NOT compatible with C1E feature on this motherboard as well causing Windows 7 to freeze when loading, the same OS/hardisk loads without problems when used on 2 other Asus motherboard with C1E enabled so looks like there may be another bug to be fixed in the new A07 BIOS.

    I just bought a 720 x3 and a TA785GE,

I loaded the modded bios and set the settings right to unlock 4 cores.

When i load into windows, the 4 cores show up but my desktop icons "wiggle" and I see slight desktop corruption.

Do you guys have any suggestions? Im new to Phenom II.

I upped the voltage but no luck.

Check if it does the same thing with normal two cores. If you're using the onboard IGP, it might be suffering from the unstable frequency the cores are experiencing due to the unlock.

I got this mobo with Sempron 140 and have been unable to unlock the second core - blank screen on reboot - have used all the suggested settings and added tons a voltage to everything just incase , the motherboard was a bargain here in ZA , will end up buying athlon X2 to replace this disappointment, undevolt and HTPC/server it , Any last ditch suggestions to try unlock ? , i flashed to lastest bios on china biostar site but will try the EURO BIOS which has diff size

    - Will get bios revisions and sempron details when i get home
