Need help with old skool DFI NF4 SLI-DR

I have had my DFI NF4 SLI-DR working with 2 x 1gb corsair @255mhz, AMD 3800 X2 @ 2.8ghz, 7900GT and coolermaster 460w PSU for the past year. I took the system apart to clean it and put in a 8800GTS 512mb and 600w PSU (from my other PC).

Once I put the PC back together it won't post. There are 2 red diagnose lights that stay on from the 4, which I think indicates no initialising of the vga according to the manual. I have tried putting back in the 7900GT and my 4870 1GB and there was no change. So I put back in the Coolermaster 460w PSU and still no change.

I have tried removing the battery and clearing the cmos for 45mins. Tried only putting in 1 stick of ram.

Does anyone have any other ideas I can try?

Maybe try a PCI video card if you've got one kicking around?

DFI can be picky about power supply. Try one of the following:
1)Ensure the 2 extra floppy power connectors on your board are being used (if the board has them) or
2)Try a different PSU as older DFI boards like that tend to be extremely picky with using PSU.

Unfortunately I do not have a PCI video card to test. Tried 3 PCI-E cards which I know 2 work, and the other I changed cooler on and havn't managed to test it.

    1) I made sure that the floppy power and molex power was connected.
    2) I tried the PSU that I had in it for the last year and the same thing happened.

I hope it doesn't resort to this as I would just have to get a new mobo, ram and cpu as it's not worth replacing 939 stuff anymore.

I have tried a 8 hrs cmos clear, the other PCI-E slot and replacing the mobo battery but nothing has changed.

I think 2 lights mean vga and not ram.

Thanks for the replies so far, I want to try everything before I give up on this board.

You shure that the CMOS pin is back on the correct pins After clearing CMOS..

ive done that so many times lol.

    things to try

Pull the CPU and reinstall it into ZIF.

Firmly press all conectors for PSU .

Clean all teh contacts on Ram and Videocard with a Number Two Pecil Eraiser(i think i spelled it wrong lol).. Gently errase the Gold contacts ,going in the direction of the fingers to gently clean its contact.

Make shure the Ram goes into the OLD RAM SLOTS they WERE IN.

Put In the 7600GT or 8800gts. Make shure there seated firm. make shure to use a Anolog connector not DVI for first boot.

DO NOT PUT any type of SOUNDCARD in MOBO.. Fire upl the MOBO with Videocard only then once its going install the Creative SB600 or what ever lol..

Sorry im having flash backs dang you......I hope it fires up Bro

Ok, tried reseating the cpu and taking out the sound card but no joy.

I used 1 stick of ram and moved it into all the of the slots, the furthest 2 from the cpu didn't make any difference, but the nearest 2 did. It beeped and 3 red lights were on instead of 2, which I think means a ram error.

So the mobo is responding, I might take it all out again and re do everything in 1 last attemp to get it working as I have really run out of ideas.
