9.7's are the most stable so far with my 4890's in crossfire. I get the most playability and stability out of them.

They are a bit slower in FO3 and I randomly get the FO3 water bug. Rappelz has some corruption in a few of the menu's. That is about it from the list of games I play that I'm having any issue with on these drivers.

As well Furmark seems to be giving me issues in this, I'm not sure if it's extra countermeasures implemented by ATI in the driver or something else but no matter what I do my scores end up being around 7700 give or take a few which is a single card score, that said both show up and I have done the rename thing and all that. I've also noticed that my card temps in Furmark both show identical temps, but they are low compared to CCC by about 5 degrees and my one card runs about 6-8 degrees cooler, due to better airflow for it. So all in all not sure whats happening in Furmark with these drivers.

Overall though these are the best drivers I've found, both in Vista 64 and Win 7.

On a side note: Why are so many people complaining about the lack of features in Win 7 Drivers? The OS is not even OUT yet. We have 1 to 2 more ATI driver releases before Win 7 goes public, so if the drivers at time of public release are crap, then I'd say complain all you want!

BTW: Howdy all. Been lurking around these boards for years, finally had time to actually post. :P

9.7 did strange things for me too in Furmark - none of the problems you mentioned, but temps were higher than with 9.6, and FPS was about 150% more - my average on 9.6 for 1920, 2xAA is about 29, on 9.7 it jumps to 37.

DemiGod is good. I still suck at playing multiplayer though. I can play with 2 hard AI allies against 3 nightmare computers and an easy 4th computer, but just suck it up bigtime multiplayer.

I've finally isolated the corruption and flickering issues I've been troubleshooting - looks like it's the driver package. Packages after 9.3 are causing texture corruption and flickering issues under 3D load, 9.2 is perfectly fine.

I found some white-screen flickering and snow a few days after installing 9.7. Happened when I entered 3D mode. Uninstall/reinstall didn't fix anything.

I should note that I did crash my computer and display drivers a couple times before that due to overclocking. Restored an earlier image to my drive to make sure I didn't destroy a card - 9.4 works fine. I'll try 9.7 again when I get the chance to see if that was a fluke.

For those of you with 9.7 issues, 9.8 should be out within the next 10 or so days I would imagine.

To those of you having issues with CCC, what about running the 9.7s and an older CCC?
