Corsair 620 question

I think that PSU would handle but you def want to consider a HX750 or comparable for breathing room, it's a $20 difference.

I have a similar system without the additional 4890, and have no problems.

Always leave some breathing room, go for the hx750. These are some of the best PSU's there are though, so you are good either way.

The 920 OCed @ 4ghz and the two 4890 lightly OC'ed to 900 will test the HX 620 to its limit. Will it run? Yes, but just barely.

yeah it will handle it find and you can use the power supply tester to tell you what kind of psu to see how many watts you will need.

That's my thinking too.

I owned a HX620 and thought long and hard about using it with a second 4870 in crossfire on my last rig ... I guessed it would be running flat out, especially with 2 raptors and 2 other HD's, so bought a HX1000, as it happened the 620 went pop before I got the second HD4870 or the HX1000, but it was just one of those things, it would have happened with hardly any load I guess? ... just a bad PSU or bad mains surge protection that I've since upgraded ... I still have confidence in Corsair or I'd not have bought the HX1000, also when it did go pop, it never took out anything else with it.

I have killed an hx 620 in smoke and flames with less load than the OP is describing, so HX 750

I'd like to add, if I may be so bold, that while the 750HX is an excellent power supply, having owned several Corsair units so far, the Seasonic-built Antec TruePower New 750 should also be taken into consideration. It performed within a whisker of what the Corsair did, according to testing at JonnyGuru and Hardware Secrets, and is at a fire sale price right now.....$95 shipped at Newegg. So, the question is the 750HX worth $70+ more than the Antec TPN 750? Up to you.....personally, I'm willing to take the chance on the Antec unit, despite losing 2 years of warranty. 5 years vs. 7 years....but come on, who is planning on keeping it for 7 years, anyway?
