External drives are supported over the mini USB port, and with the new 1TB 2.5" drives... Seems like I'll be in possession of a 1TB PMP soon.

This Zii should bring that capability. In an article I read it says that the Linux OS is designed to give people a PC-like experience sans all that Apple nonsense. I hope we get a Tegra product similar to this. I don't WTF a Stemcell SoC is supposed to be LOL.

Make it a phone. Then I can get rid of my 3g for hopefully something faster and doesn't freeze as much.

i wonder how well this does or does not compare to the Zune HD

between those are my next purchases...

The lack of HD radio (standard on Zune HD [free to i believe]) is a bummer though

I'd rather have an HD camera than an HD radio, but I'd rather have an OLED screen than what the Zii EGG has... tradeoffs...

Since it's Linux based i dont see any reason why there would be any limitations to what formats it supports. Then again WMA = fail
Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

If it's lossless, can't you covert it to FLAC, APE, TTA or any other free lossless codec?
Just decompress it back to a WAV and then choose your preferred format.
For this kind of device FLAC would be the best choice i think.

It needs to be a Phone, looks like my LG Arena but with better resolution video, better sound quality, and much more memory.

Also needs a GOOD internet browser, just about every touch screen browser is crappy so far.

Amazing device, like many others mention. Waiting for the 64GB or HDD version, plus this neat display:

Looking forward to the next iPod conference, because they should be worried about this and the Zune HD. Any camera but an HD-capable camera for the new Touch would be a let-down, with this kind of competition. And bigger battery, HD display

If this supports FLAC as well as DRM-free Apple Lossless, I'd be VERY interested. It looks very nice and, so long as they keep the firmware and devices relatively constant, will be able to battle the iPod Touch and maybe an iPhone too on all levels. I only hope that they do release a phone version for both GSM and CDMA networks.

I like the dual camera feature, but I think they have it backwards. HD camera should be on the back so you can take pictures rather than the VGA one, no-one needs HD quality while talking with me over Skype (the only way I can see using it).

Very interesting product. I'm not sure whether I will pick one up or not, but I will surely be watching it with interest.
Dual CCIE (Route\Switch and Security) at your disposal. Have a Cisco-related or other network question? My PM box is always open.
