I've got no strings to hold me down.
To make me fret, or make me frown.
I had strings but now I'm free.
There are no strings on me

Sounds good..... just make sure you give yourself enough time to get it up to speed before the stage ends!
I'm thinking my highest '01 will either be with the 480 or the 570, my 285 is horrible.
Too bad I don't have a 295... Worked out a trade but the other guy never came through with the card.

I'm so stoked for you that is beautiful!
Just take one at a time. Dont get them all going and get spread thin. You want to just take your time on each one. so no onboard video on that board? its a beautiful board but I wished you had Igp. since the stage 3 is dominated by sandy igp. the gains over h55 are like 5K points. I want to know what gigabytes equivalent of the h55-ud2h is. that board was like a hundred bux and clocked like a 300 dollar board. I'm all about the wolf in sheeps clothing. I cant wait to see the Linuxfan aka "The ALabama SLammer" tear it up!
good luck

Splave are you benching tonight? Get in the thread and lets get everyone pumped up!
Godamn why did I sell my Rampage extreme. That board is a piece of fine sculpture.
frickin priceless. Linuxfan you I cant tell you enough how jealous I am. You are holding some beautiful hardware.
Dont do anything stupid!

Gave us a little bump in the ref clock challenge.........
rather dissapointed that my cellshocks took a dive........I used to do 445 ht benchable on this board with them

oh . should I even bother with the e6600 on the p5k3 dlx or is it a waste? i dont have any xtreme cooling but I could easily strap my dice container on and do ice water runs.
lemme know. os is installed for stge 4. how is alabama doing?

done with sp32m ....good luck guys...
switching to igp now...aircooled ftw
Good work Honda thanks for taking that setup for a spin!
Good luck Splave getting good FSB on your board...
I guess I'll just start out with the SS hooked up to the E8400 tomorrow on the REX and the Fusion NB waterblock plugged into my triple rad since it sounds like its important for FSB...
I'm going to hit this new Sandy Bridge setup again in the morning because I'm still trying to get it up to speed.
I hit 5.1ghz and got a 14.8x pifast and I think 7.3x Superpi1M on air at 1.50V but when I went to do Wprime32M it blue screened then I've had big problems getting it back to those clocks because of this crazy dual BIOS thing Gigabyte has unfortunately. The F6a BIOS works great but when it resets to the F2 backup BIOS all the time it crashes and I can't get the F6a to run at the right settings....
I'm hoping I can get 5.1ghz 3dm01 at least from this random chip. Going to try 2 cores and the -40oC SS unit and hopefully I can work past that dual BIOS thing again and it will not CB or CBB on me...
If it does I'll take a last shot tomorrow before hitting the REX with the aircooler outside to drop the temps a bit.
SB is really weird. Super efficient but the only setting you change basically for an overclock is the CPU Vcore and you bump the multi for core clock...
BTW this chip didn't even like 102mhz Bclk, did 101mhz ok.
I'm disappointed in SB because from my POV it makes these CPUs easy for anybody to overclock so the dudes who picked up a cherry CPU get nice speeds and they don't need to do extensive testing or research to find how to get the CPU up there, nor do they need extreme cooling methods...
Ah well, its great news for Gamers because the price and performance is amazing compared to the other stuff out there and last get i7s and it overclocks on water better than any other i7 CPU out there.
Also like TA said, its beautiful. I'm digging the black PCB motherboard for sure.
@Zeneffect: YGPM.
Like I mentioned before, the E6600 is good for hardware points... It'd be worth it to bench it in all the 2D stuff.
I don't see an 11 minute 32M run for the E6600 thats under 4ghz, so it may not be possible. You can always try though.
