When trying to optimize for pcmark - 05 or vantage - there is so much to tweak and many of the tweaks interact - there is probably always a better sweet spot - its just a matter of how much time you want to devote to find it.

How long the benches run is nothing compared to all the time needed to find a new optimum.

hey steven nice work on that 43381 run with the new Areca 1880 controller! That is simply amazing my friend!
I just scored a sabertooth 1366 on newegg open box for 150 bux. and that rcx paste chew turned me onto. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-060-_-Product

I have a xeon w3540 to try my 1st run with 1366. Is this board any good? I went on the bot and saw only h20 submissions so it makes me a little curious. chew had some good runs on his 1156 sabertooth so I am optimistic. get some of that rosewill if you guys are getting low in ceramique. ive seen it in action and you will be amazed. thanks brian

guys are there known coldbugs on that 1366 sabertooth? any workarounds? lemme know.

btw @steve I dont see your name when I search hwbot for 6850. those are some easy points you can do for the team. I would get one but I sent my 5850 to diamond and still waiting for a their green light. Diamond is pretty cool so I think they will take it back. If they dont accept it I will either get a 6870 or wait for the 69xx series to come out. you have the card buddy and latest afterburner should work on 6850 but not 6870 yet so the ball is on your court. im still waiting for paul to get in this game.

    Good morning Mr. Transam,
The sabertooth looks like it should be a nice board although I have never tried one.
If Chew likes it I would think it must be very good indeed.
Also, I will give the Rosewill paste a try - thanks for the lead.
Use the 6850? - I'm confused (it's my nominal state actually) - do you mean use AMD 6850 for pcm05 and pcmv?

    Nice.
That CPU is killer, hope it gets tested by you Chew* sometime in 2D.

Going to try my W3570 now if I have a working R3E board left and CPU is still ok, we'll see.

no i meant just plain 3d benches using the 6850. I thought you had one? There are not many submissions so i thought you might want to give it a whirl on the cascade.

I agree, let's wait a bit until we show all of our results. I'm pretty sure Team BenchTec will post some decent runs too.

    Why?
The card is too weak for global points, and few submissions mean you'll only get a small amount of hardware points. It's a lot more efficient ( point-wise ) to buy some Geforce 8 VGAs or some more S775-CPUs.

oh no I see. Okay forget it. I dont know how I should go about points on hw bot. I figured it was the best bench you can do in each particular hdwr category. I think it should be this way but i guess its the highest bench submission you made regardless of hardwr used.
what about this force recalculation button. I pressed it last night and my rank dropped lower that madonna's panties on a 1st date. I had around 4 or 5 global gold cups prior to this now I have 1. can massman get me back 24 hrs? I like the 4 global cups a lot more.
I think I just caused the team some points. I hope not. oh god what did i do now? when should I press that button? never? Donny what the hell happened? You are the captain. i need a lesson here.

oh no tilt wtf did i do? why is that button there? I though it was a way for the server to consolidate your best submissions and add to your existing points. it actually took all my good stuff and overwrote them with mediocrity. hey hwbot admins can you do anything? I honestly did not know what clicking that button would do. can we do a rollback? I had some good stuff in there. can you shed some light on that recalculation button? Why is it there? when should we use it? guys did you see any of our teams points drop in the last 24 hrs? if they did its my fault. CHew? you know a lot about how to get hw points and keep them. can you please shed some light on this one? what is the button for? guys i got a confession to make. Everytime I made a submission on hw bot since the past year ive pressed that button afterward. ive had a good year overclocking for my team but I have nothing to show for it because of that stupid button. Now I wonder what if I just made my submissions and left it alone for the past year what would be different? after all the dangerous missions driving in nyc rush hour traffic with a 35l dewar of ln2 and sneaking it into the elevator on a skateboard and all the 1156 hardware I killed! i feel like the dude in scanners!
    omg!

AFAIK transam it doesn't effect much. I have hit it when submitting updated scores in categories.

Honda only msi stuff i have is a 5850 so i will be benching that in vantage on thuban on my msi board.

Like Brian said, ts just a refresh button where it checks the database and updates your scores right then instead of waiting till the end of the day or whenever it automatically updates.

Does the standard cascade bracket work on 8800's?
What if I used my water chillers on the 980 and the cascade on a GF8800 - might be able to get a few 3D points?

You can get a lot of points with the 8800s on air and the 980x on Cascade(probably around 80 points per card) with the 8800GTX, the 8800GT 512, and three GTS models.
GPUs are more complicated when you put them on cold, if you could do a special mounting and get your cascade on their for perfect contact the GPUs will most likely need mods to run at that temperature.
It'd probably work out the best for you to put the GPUs on the chiller and 980x on the cascade.
If you can get the 8800s modded you'll grab more points.
