You really didn't gave Brian a lot of time to have his smile on his face from his fresh WR.

I got to say I haven't seen such a WR war for 32M in a long time !! keep pushing it mate

I think we got a heir for the XEON W3540.
I don't know how these auusssieess got heir hands on it, and it doesn't even say ES on CPU-Z...weird...
x25 Multy at 600$ is very nice, now you can clock it like hell on almost any decent board, no more bclk limited and Classy terror hehe
it's better then the 950 ... i have test 4pcs and many suxxor pcs
It's normal , Intel forget/opposite the bits for that cpuz detected in ES (i have test a few pcs with the "pb")
Yes it's good news with the multi 25x for the decent motherboard with at blck limited at 225/230 for exemple

    I dont think so
Just waiting for hipros and brians answer... there are three awesome CPUs included in this battle. I dont think our CPU can handle 5750 in 32M

I didn't have any LN2 left so I let it as it was to see were the CPU will stop running it....
From -132*C up to -99*C and the CPU was STILL running....
    It stoped at ~ -97*C.....
So yeah, today you will have my answer....
Though this MONSTER PSU I'm building right now for "one of you", doesn't let me much time to bench.....

Great score there James! Efficiency is very good! Congratulations!

So you and Dino have both found a killer 960 CPU for 32M? Great luck or is it?
You are as good as your samples are!

cant figure out if that was an insult or compliment from Petri cause from the way it reads it can swing both ways

yeah brian with my first 15L of LN2 on classi and this chip i struggled big time and gave up on 2:10 completely. I used 2:8 to test frequency. With 4850MHz on NB i was getting an error in Pi after about 6th or 7th loop at about the same time as pro's here so with some wazza and figuring out how to stabilise it should be able to shave off another couple of seconds. For me 2:8 CAS6 is still slower than CAS7 2:10 though....i wish i could run it at 1.1Ghz+ RAM but i'm happy regardless as the chip looks pretty good in superpi

after trying to stabilise higher NB and losing patience i just tried to finish at least one run at 5560MHz lol
time is not good of course but chip has promis for sure

With wazza from what I can see you are right there Dinos

Trying to find the right mix between uncore and subtimings seems about dam near impossible as the amount of testing just seem endless

Pro has proven though super high uncore is worthless if you can nail down proper sub timings, that is for sure.....I'm in that same boat as you though concerning ram that was capable of those speeds...oh well work with what you got

about wazza >> my best wazza was around 45xxxxxx not that high
that was a second or a third run in windows without reboot

for example this one has lower avail. but still needs some more tuning...but going below 7m at 5087MHz is pretty efficient

you are right about clocking nehalem
no wonder hipro used 300-400 litres just to understand one benchmark
i can totally understand why he does that and if i had time and money i would do the same........i did do pretesting on SS but as Peter said to me in the thread it's one thing to test on -50C and another at -100C + heheh....i know all about it with those finnicky C0s

my chip cold bugs at exactly -116C no matter what ratio or what volts i use on vcore or VTT. it's not the IMC i dont think but the core itself probably >> at least my CBB is only -106C so its manageable cause Classified is REALLY funny on LN2 and i needed to do a lot of "load defaults" in bios to get it to boot to windws but the resulting MHz OC is just awesome from this board

i wouldnt give up on NB with 2:8 CAS6 either..i know the relationship between RTL and NB works but it really depends on ratio and clocks you are on heh

thanks all for your kind words..

nice time youve got happening there dino aswell, just to clarify, dino and i live over 1000/km from each other....

re 3d performance of this cpu, its not too bad but so far its just my inability to get a full pass at 3d06 with the right clocks =p

I remember that you and Dino live far away from each other.

Great scores from both of you!

I hope to see those 960's in this part of the world too

What's the sSpec# of this i7-960 CPU? CPU-Z shows it as normal retail but how about the heatspreader? Intel Confidential ES?

I cross my fingers and hope that this is not i7 CPU which looks like completely retail in CPU-Z but says ES on top of IHS.

Dinos says me in the morning that this CPUs are no ES. I ask the same question.
