bit of work done this evening
just odds and ends until my watercooling turns up
still need my gpu blocks and other stuff - but european supplies of WC components seems to be dwindling
no supply of EK blocks anywhere in the UK although i have managed to get a source for my bitspower fittings

heres my switch pcb all braided up and reinstalled - i have a hammond box that i am in the process of cutting too

some holes i cut in the motherboard tray for 24pin/8pin adapters and put beading round the cut edges to finish them off

installed the rear fans and temporary guards [until my black ones come]

heres the case as it stands

the top half of the case sorted

EK have impressed me with this one!

i also got the rest of my fittings, 20X 7/16 bitspower compression fittings

no - they are Gelid Silent 9 and Silent 12's
they are a little bit translucent [i think thats the right word]

pretty good airfolw - i did a mini review here

@ Zeus - yours is a lot neater than mine
was thinking of making a cutout for my cpu backplate but left it simple

just looking forward to getting hold of a few more bits then i can actually make some real progress on it

    thanks for the comments guys

had to get the nb block from the the netherlands

couldnt source it in the UK

    came to around €120

i thought i would ditch my nvidia cards and go for ATI

just to be different [shame the new cards are coming out so soon]

finally managed to source a side panel for my TJ07
the case i had was discounted due to it being missing, after a few emails to Silverstone in Germany - a new one arrived
many thanks to Annika @ Silverstone for helping me out and getting the panel to me so quickly

many have said that the TJ07 has specific panels that fit the individual case the panels ship with due to how it is made
looks like i was in luck as mine fits perfectly

planning a mod for the window at a later date

also got a pack of Silverstone Aero Slots and some single slot PCI plates for my 4890's
getting these sprayed black at the moment

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Had a power cut this morning so no gaming, thought it was a great opportunity to get in the shed and do some modding

got a tray from an Antec 1200 at work that i thought may make a good mount for my DDC pumps

heres a test fit to show where the pump mount will go

i put some acoustipak on it to deaden the sound/vibrations from the pumps

used some ehiem mounts to mount the pump, although i may mount them on top of these and use rubber grommets i got from an old striker motherboard to stabilise the pumps
    like this:

mounted like this in my old rig

also got a load of stuff from B&Q [hardware shop] today

    some black satin spray paint
a set of P-clips large and small
some cutting blades for my Dremel
    some machine screws - perfect self tapping screws for mounting fans to Thermochill Rads ;

    heres the P-clips:
they are white plastic, wanted black ones but they will be hidden behind the mobo tray and i guess they match the fans

Coming along nicely, always fun to see new pics
the case i had was discounted due to it being missing
What does that mean? Certainly TJ07s are not being discontinued (one glance in the worklog section and you'd think they're the best selling cases ever).
many have said that the TJ07 has specific panels that fit the individual case the panels ship with due to how it is made
Wow...I'd never heard of that before. Does it have to do with how the monocoque bottom/front/top is manufactured?

EDIT: I misread discounted as discontinued. Because I am a total idiot.

silverstone said that the way it is shaped means it is hard to get the panels to fit unless made specifically for that case
i guess thats why they dont sell them direct on the site or through resellers
i had to tell the lady at silverstone that i didnt care if it didnt fit because i wanted it anyway

the TJ07 isnt being discontinued [this will never happen - imagine the uproar that would cause ]
i got mine discounted as it was missing a side panel [hence me needing to obtain one]

    thanks armitage

your profile pic makes me want to go and ride my bike rather than modding cases - but i need to make some progress!!! change your avatar to a motherboard or somthing and stop tempting me !

the paint is for the bits and bobs i needed to do

fan grilles, pci brackets, rad stands etc

its a pretty good paint [plastikote]
i have used it on aluminium + steel cases since i have been modding cases

What kind of paint did you use on the motherboard tray and inside of tj07? looks nice, much better than when I tried and did you spray it?

Also, you may want to put some type of small spacer under the pump mounts, so it does not sit directly on the acoustipak material, my old ddc left burn/melt marks in some gel over time from letting sit on it... heat from under center pump needs airflow and ? of reason some pumps died in past from overheating. Even raising it a few mm's to allow air circulation under would suffice. dont know how acoustipak is at heat dissipation.

Sounds good, I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

it was a dark grey primer - then i did a very thin layer of plastikote daily for about a week to ensure a nice even coverage

today i painted my pci plates and managed to get some black thumb screws for the pci panel and the rear/side panels of the case

currently painting my single slot graphics plates and sound card plate in the same way

after the advice on my pumps and trying to take the common sense approach i decided to redo my pump mounts

i used the technique i described earlier in the thread by using the rubber stilts from the striker motherboard and putting some space under the pumps

Looks good. I like the tray idea, you may be able to make more use out of it's room though. Maybe a fan controller on there also? Just an idea, it looks like you have like 1/3 of the tray available if you moved the pumps.

    few bits done today:
put the hammond box on the switch pcb
[the silver screws are going soon, got some black ones somewhere]

    also got a new psu...
its got high ratings and should allow me to sleeve it easily without voiding warranty

running it on my rig at the moment - its much quieter than my TX750w corsair

Waiting on my second GPU block and my mosfet blocks and then its time to build [should arrive this week]

i am still waiting for my EK mosfet kit and another nickel 4890 block to match this one

What type and size rubber trim did you use to line the holes you cut in the tray? Did you just grab it up from the local hardware store?

    braid, heatshrink, blowhole trim

i got a few things from watercooling UK such as my rad stands - 240 radstand & 360 radstand

half my bitspower and my nb/sb block was from highflow in holland

i fail to see how we overcharge tbh
