that plust the pioneer i linked will make you happy. it's what i've got, but i would go with the 2ohm version of the sub, i've got the 4 ohm, it produces a little bit of a cleaner sound, but the 2 ohm will make full usage of the wattage it can handle with the supplied amp

My stereo is pretty crime proof. I have an amp that's hidden, hidden speakers and it all runs off my iPod touch which sits on the dash and if the iPod isn't there you can't even see that it would be. I have no head unit and that's how it's staying.

premier or type-r sub will do decent, the JL that is linked sucks. The MTX Jackhammer subs also suck.

i ended up getting some ply wood, and cutting some pieces for my trunk, a bottom piece to mount amps and such to, top piece to cover it all up, but with the summer heat, and the fact that there is about 3mm between the top of the amps and the top level, i've had to install fans to cool the amps off, otherwise you used to not be able to tell my amps were there.

Mine's under a seat in the cabin, not too bad for heat.

    i would recommend

    alpine pxe h650

with this you wont need any head unit you can keep it stock so people thinks you have a stock stereo and leave your car alone.

i recommend this and only install this device in the installs i do, because is the best sound processor around, it will remove any EQ you car has and put what is best for the sound stage, it measures everything with a very sensitive mic and gives you audiophile grade eq and sound processing, its small and very easy to hide, ive installed it in audis and bmw and my costumers cant believe their car sounds like they sound right now.

price you can get it in ebay for 300$ same as a good head unit.

i would get a pdx 100.4 or 100.5 amp they are digital they send 100rms per channel at 4ohm or 2 ohm and they are stupidly small so they are pretty damn easy to hide, issue is they are a little on the expensive side of amps. the sound is very nice and the package is top notch.

after you install those 2 things you will try to get a nice set of components like focal or boston, it happened to one of my costumers he has a nice seat leon like mine i installed that combo and he had some rockford fosgate coaxial and he raved about how good they were after listening how good another costumer bmw sounded with the same interface and amp but with K2 focal components he begged to me he wanted those focal too.

the alpine pxe h650 is the best thing ive heard for car audio, and you dont have to remove your stock headunit or loose your wheel controls and ipod interface everything is post processed and its amazing how that little box can make a car sound that good.
