    920 5299.73 Mhz, 99.2% OC, 3D bench,pics

Today I tested my second 920 on dry ice:
    CPUZ validation 5299.73 Mhz
    3DM06 5111 Mhz
    batch 3849B016

I bought this chip is for the family computer, a general purpose/HTPC build. Not as strong as the week 45 B027 I tested earlier for my own computer (which is currently #1 on HWbot), but this week 49 does Okay even if it fell short of 5.3 Ghz, placing in the seventh spot at Hwbot.

    Hey, nice clocks roller.
But 3DM 06 without CPU benchmarks is nothing, its the hardest part at the bench by miles.

    Thanks
I left out the CPU tests for accuracy. When gaming my CPU is never loaded 100%, it doesn't render scenes all by itself. So a true simulation of the most demanding use of my computer is a game benchmark that does not do rendering solely by the CPU. Of course the real reason any of us post our OC results is to compare our chip to others chips, that's what CPUZ is for.

Out of 9100+ submissions, 6 beat mine. If that makes mine merely an average ("decent") chip, I won't dispute your characterization.
By the way, as shown in my pic, I'm using an end cap and copper tube I bought at Home Depot for $8.00, not a fancy Kingpin Dragon setup.

pcie=115, vtt=1.325. These settings I held constant, but I varied Vcore from about 1.425 - 1.49, 1.46 seemed to give best results.

Looks like a great 920, but come on dude, let's see CPU score in '06 and some 32m action. Then again, if your pot is nothing more than an end cap, it may simply not be able to handle that load.

LOL! It's a chunk of metal! it easily handles a load of a few ounces of dry ice and alcohol. What do you think would happen, bend under the stress??

Even though 3DM06 CPU tests don't simulate anything I would ever do on my computer, by request:

Load as in heat. 32m is a long bench and I would guess that temps would crash pretty quickly if you tried to run 32m. 32m is the most important bench for i7

You have a good chip there by the looks, shame you dont bench seriously

You might be the only guy who dices a CPU but doesnt care about the numbers

nice results with homemade pot dude

any max validations, 32m or 3dm06 runs with hyperthreading?

No, I never use HT so I leave it off while benchmarking.

Oh, I SOOO care about the numbers, but only the OC number 'CPUZ validation'. That's because all that matters to me is the quality of my CPU, how high it can clock compared to other CPUs. This can be done only with CPUZ.

you're a little bit bullish mate should probably try and tone down the angry hostile chat people are congratulating you on your results but everyone is also curious about the performance under some higher loads that's all

Nice chip, maybe I should see what mine can do with HT off.

Indeed you should. You've shown great skill in OCing over the time I've been monitoring this forum, and since you have a pre-week 50 chip, I'll bet you could post one of the elite OCs. Go for it!
