You seem way too excited about jewelry that is guaranteed to turn off women.

Wanted to throw that out there as something to mull over before you spend some hard earned cash on something like that.

It will turn off some women, but the ones that notice it and get turned ON, are GOLDEN !

Besides, if a girl really was turned off by the fact that our hobby is computers... I am not sure if the relationship would be built to last more than a week or so.

Actually, an ex-girlfriend once borrowed a dead P4 to use as a hairbrush in an emergency. You'd murder your lobes trying to hang one from your ears all day, though.

Some did, some didn't. I believe the changeover to LGA started with Prescott.

I don't think stating the unquestionable fact that it is not now, nor will it ever be, interesting or attractive to 99.998% of the opposite sex to wear computer parts counts as "hating".

Your clearly deluded desire to justify such a lifestyle saddens me.

Man... Chill on the flame war here! You are entitled to your opinion but don't state it like it is fact then judge me based on your assumptions. That is what I would call deluded.

Here are some facts for you, since you might be a little confused on what a fact is.

    1. I personally know girls who wear computer parts as jewelry.
    2. I had a girl tell me she thinks I would look good with that on.
    3. I work hard to earn my money and I can afford to spend it on something that looks nice to me. That is my business.
    4. You are hating because you are insulting my taste and making negative assumptions about my lifestyle. You are not just stating your opinion.
    5. You need to get life and actually talk to women before you know what 99.99999% of women like and then you will realize that 99.999% of women will never like the same things.
    6. Not all women have the same taste in men and the way they look.
    7. Final fact... you do not know everything or even a little bit of something for that matter, so get over yourself and post where people actually give a crap about what you have to say.

Anyway... how do you know I wasn't going to buy something for a girl and not for me?

Thank you for your time, you are obviously a god in your own mind

Still pretty sure that geek chic is not in fashion. In my 25 years on this planet, aside from people who I can easily classify as computer nerds that I have seen at LAN parties (and don't think I'm excluding myself from this group, I'm just honest about it) I have never once seen anyone wearing something like that. No, wait, I did once see a few guys, but they were clearly not going to be going out with any ladies anytime soon.

It's just... it's like saying it's cool to have tape on the bridge between your glasses, or to wear a pocket protector. Maybe when you're in highschool you can get away with it for a bit, but that's it.

Edit: And I'm pretty sure that by bashing my initial opinion over the head you are also "hating" on my tastes.

Edit 2: I feel like a bad person even using the word "hating" in quotes. You are not a black male defending yourself against a racial slur.

Edit 3: Why am I arguing with someone from LA about what looks stupid? California is like a foreign country on this continent in terms of its beliefs and fashions. I would feel comfortable leaving it as "possible in LA" if you are. Of course, when I was in Silicon Valley - the birthplace of IT - I didn't see it either, but we'll just assume I was in all the wrong places at all the wrong times.

Hey Serra, the site I linked, fractalspin.com, is owned and operated by a woman (she even makes a lot of the jewelry). I would like to think that there are some girls out there who appreciate Geek Chic.
