    [Buildlog]murderMod #027 [New-Update]

Hello everybody, in this thread I will kinda lead you through this build with many pictures, and litte words, also because I'm not very skilled in english

If anybody has any suggestions, or ideas feel free to post, I will be happy to considerate them.

    Enjoy!

I loved how Charles wrapped my murderMod up, so i examined the whole box

    Phase 1.0

So this is actually where the adventure begins, i drilled the holes for the Hammond boxes, on which i'll put the radiator. (Termochill 3x 120mm) then i took of the original air intake and mounted the top window. It actually isn't in there yet, i will slide it in once all the rest is done though.

Next i will be sleeving a bit.

I'm afraid to say that i'v ran into quite a serious problem. This evening i wanted to get GPU & Mobo watercooled. Only the GPU is a newer version of the Gtx 260 from Gainward. The cooling block however only fit's the older version (Gtx 280 alike). Unfortunately when i bought it there was an error in the compatibility list, whereas now i see that for that specific version of the Gtx 260 no cooling block is availible.

Whish me good luck for finding a solution!

Welcome to the Club No. 27

Have a nice time an enjoy your new "Case"

    Greats No. 10

Try a watercooling block like the EK GTX 275. I have had the same problem with many blocks for the 260, but the 275 is perfect ;-).

EK has a Gainward block: http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/bl...gw-nickel.html

That should be what you want.

Thanks for your welcome tamtam1 !

I sent an email to the support now, they will tell me if they have a compatible block or not. This way if it still don't work, i can send it back. Otherwise i'll just buy the EK GTX 275! (even though on http://www.aquatuning.ch/product_inf...al-Nickel.html it shows in the pic's that it aint compatible with the new version!

    Cheers

If its Gainward, the 275 probably isn't the right block. The 275 works on a different reference version of the GTX260. Check EK's website. The have a block matching program which will show the board design to completely verify.

interesting tube routing from the cpu to the chipset block. are you going to stick with clear or would you consider going with black tubing? or maybe even a hard line?

    looking very good though.

Can you straighten the tubing up a bit? It looks like it has some tension on it. Looks good.

Looks excellent mate, as TJ07 always do.
If your not using coloured coolant in your loops, I would also change the clear tubeing for black, like TheTox stated.

    hale88:
EXIF from the photos says Nikon D90 and my *guess* of the lens is the 18-105 f/3.5-5.6 ED VR based off the EXIF from some of the images.

Nice to see that your murderMod arrived safely

Best of luck with your mod, so far it's looking great - loving the look of the X58 LE and the fittings

The rad is held down with some 3M doublesided tape, if you do it like Charles does.

OP, having just completed my own TJ07 "murdermodded" build, I'd suggest spinning the rad so the fittings are at the front of the case. I couldn't get the tubing past between the fans and PSU with a TFC360.

Actually i have as little as no clue. I think i'll try something darkred/golden as colour. Anyways i got black tubing here, i'll check it once the mobo is in the murderMod. But it dont really fascinate me.

Theme is Black with red accents. For example, as experiment i'll be using a red GPU.

good decision! My murderMod simply knocked me off my feet the first time i saw it in reallife. Plus Charles is a cool guy to work with

Thanks man, i agree, TJ07 ist definitely something special, the murderMod just takes it from extraordinary to prefect (seriously, no flaws!)

No i screwed the Hammond boxes to the bottom of the case, and will stick the Rad to them with double sided tape.

Rad isn't in place yet, and i usually think through these thinks before i take action (that's why rad will go in place once everything is setup)

nonetheless thanks your tipp, i appreciate it (i would hate to do something stupid)

The block is pure :banana::banana::banana:o, i agree (i actually like it more than the classified..)

sorry to dissapoint you, first up will be a Black&Red theme. Mainly black though, with a few red accents (for example red PCB on the GPU, darkred cooling liquid, an a few red sleeve SATA cables)

of course this is just the initial idea, if it doesn't satisfy me, i will also try black tubing, sleeved tubing, black GPU, black sleeving. whatever it takes practically

    Thank you for the support!

I suggest you read the book "Understanding exposure" by Bryan Peterson.

You will quickly understand how to shoot great photos manually.

    Phase 1.2

    Phase 1.2

Mounted the resevoir, and prepared Harddisk.

    Tubing changed a little aswell..

First i have to present my new toy though..

Back to dust-free business: here is the silentmaxx hdd cooler.. only job is to line it out with cooling pads, everything fit's well, and it's quickly done 10-15 minutes. I am very happy with this product.

Cats surely have a hard time getting through their day... hmm

With that i wish everyone a nice evening!

    Looks good there Warbird.
You said you needed to line out the silentmaxx hdd cooler with cooling pads,
as I know nothing about the silentmaxx hdd cooler, does that mean it is water cooled or something else?

What pump/s are you going to use?
