I put 1.45v as max for "safe limit". If you want to go over, you can do so by overriding the limit.

However, even so, always watch your temperatures, be sure they do NOT go out of hand!

Anyoe got it working in vista 64? i have 4870x2 with asus top biose, and i get that voltera error. http://www.myupload.dk/showfile/2718271a881.bmp/ picture link

ive got it working in vista 32, programe is great, voltages only go up as soon as on 3dbenches.
Like it should do. Im using a sekandary screen, with ccc and ati gpu tool open, there i can see the temps and voltage while running 3dmarks. Nice job done Agent god.

Works in Vista x64 here with no problems. GTS250 has to be hard modded through a soldered on resistor since they do not have the programmable vrm.

Thanks AgentGOD, it works great on my 4890. I have, however, encountered a bug with the program. Some voltage options do not work at all.
I mean if I select 1.4v, it goes to 1.3875v. It's not limited to that option, as it also occurs in 1.4625v- it moves to 1.45v. Unlocked advanced voltages is also checked. Is it a limitation of the hardware or a bug?

    Updated to v1.4!
    - Now will not unload RivaTuner if it was present prior to running the program
    - Fixed a bug that set a voltage lower than the one selected by the user

Can you look on the card? Look for chips labeled "volterra", like this:

Do you see them on your card?

On the other hand, did you right-click VoltageTuner.exe and click "Run as Administrator"?

    thanks for the help

i've checked the card and i can't seem to find any chip that looks like the ones you posted above, so i guess my card is really not supported.

i tried running as admin, no workie

i read the orignal post onece more and you say all RV770 are supported, and i had to buy one if not the only one not supported

here's an old pic of the card, just in case someone have one like this to share is input.

^ is that the sapphire toxic version? Those already have modded bios with higher voltages(or is it hard modded? i forget). Seeing as you are on the stock cooler, you either have a really good card, or are putting too much in(if you feel like you need to vmod it). Anyways, I guess you can be the judge of that

Btw: Working fine with the MSI 4890OC ed(though it's a reference design so I guess there's no reason for it to not) under win7 x64. Nice program! I haven't found the balls to overvolt yet(even though load temps < 70C right now, which is auto 35% fan speed), but this has potential

nope not toxic, just regular card with an "upgraded" cooler. Clocks=750/1000stock

i wanted to see if it worked, then i would have watercool that thing
but i guess i should just buy a 4890 or a gtx260 and ebay it
    decision decisions!!!

    non-refenrence design+no volterra=suxor

How does it overclock at the stock voltage? Overvolting doesn't always lead to higher OCs, especially on dud cards.

    Dear AgentGOD !!!!

This utility does not work for my Pwr Clr HD4850, There might be 2 reasons :
1st : My chip is not based on Volterra ( I'm not sure cause I haven't checked it yet )
    2nd : The way I installed isn't correct.

Regardless 1st reason , would u verify the installation in a more specific steps. ???

    Tx in advance

~830MHz is really good for an HD4870 @ stock volts. Most people need to overvolt just to get to that level. The memory OC is pretty turdy, but the gains are small as you get over 1GHz. Would be nice to see what your card can do with a little extra juice.

You're out of luck. You'll need to do some hard modifications to increase voltage for your HD4850. Sorry. :*(
