Nice Job eva!

Curious why you chose the DFI for memory testing. Though it is the best memory clocking board out there it typically requires a few more volts than others. I'm wondering if the memory would require less volts for same results on a different board. I discovered this when I used same memory cpu on classified board or rampage II gene as I did with my DFI.

Just looking at the chart I would guess maximum frequency @ 1.65v was 1020Mhz. I'm sure the chart reflects what MHz he was at before more voltage was necessary.

Thanks guys.. yeah the scaling chart pretty much tells the story - remember this is for not just single 32m pi stable but 8x 32m hyper pi, linx and 3dvantage stable as well. I can do 1024mhz 7-8-7-20 1T at 1.65v for single Super Pi 32M, didn't test linx stability at the time though.

I chose DFI as it's the first and only X58 board I had access to at the time I started testing. Corsair Dominator GTs were also my first set of proper triple channel memory I got too so first love pairing really

Didn't have access to other X58 boards until much later, Gigabyte X58-UD4P and DFI JR X58-T3H6 came later. Have started testing DFI JR X58-T3H6 and only recently got back into touch with someone from Asus - so hopefully Asus X58 boards will come too

Not sure how other boards fair for vdimm requirement wise. DFI UT X58 for me overvolts 0.005v more so 1.65v set bios = 1.655v vdimm. Cstkl1 reported his EVGA Classified while normal at idle, but overvolts voltage under load 1.65v set = 1.68v real. I guess in due time when I start to play with other X58 boards, I'll be able to properly compare voltages required

My classified really overvolts on ram even at idle. Whatever is set in bios is over .05v in windows. If one is not careful or doesn't measure you can quickly kill ram on evga classified. Looking forward to Asus sending you a board. Maybe Rampage II Gene for head to head compare. They'd like that

killer set of ram you have there eva.. seems like for ram clocking fun the dfi x58 board is the way to go

0.05v is quite alot especially if you set CPU VTT low too so it goes beyond 0.5v difference from VDIMM

So for a dominator GT 1866 cl7 set running 3d vantage stable at 1000mhz 1,64v is pretty good?? (mine does that)

2000 isn't much better i think, but way more expensive.

Yeah with good cpu and board 1866C7 > 2000C7 ain't out of reach. With 2000C7 i'd be aiming for 2200-2300

My Kayl 1/4HP only has LGA775/s939 mounting right now so no 1366 socket action - still deciding between buying Kayl's 1366 mount/evap enclosure kit versus getting Kayl to build me a new more powerful SS or even cascade. Funnily enough 2x Kayl cascades came on the market on OCAU forums but both were bought very quickly by other members on my forums at i4memory.com - so missed out LOL

For now it's water and air
