Hi dude I saw your post on the Ebuyer Forum. I also got a 0919EPMW from them. It didn't unlock on my UD4P but I'm pretty sure the board was crap.

I'm going to my local computer fair in Bristol tomorrow so I'll happy buy you a 0921 stepping if they have one, that's why I'm going there myself. I won't charge you any extra for it, I'll include the receipt.

    Let me know

Wow -Radiant- you got success on a 0919EPMW stepping! That gives me a lot of hope

    Mine is a: CACYC AC 0919EPMW and didn't unlock on a MA790XT UD4P.

Yep thats the dude. I will take a macro shot of mine when I get back from my football match.

As I said in the UD4P bug thread, my board would mess up at every opportunity. I even put 1.5V through the CPU and clocked it at 1.8GHz, then enabled hybrid mode, went back into the BIOS and then enabled ACC - all cores -2%. Saved and quit and it wouldn't boot up. I am still hopeful that my board was dodgy and not the CPU.

Knowing my luck though its going to be my CPU

    Thought I'd add this here...

Doesn't look like AMD is going to block the unlock of these chips.

    Source

AMD has recently denied the rumor that AMD will lock down core by a microcode update.

According to AMD, they will be putting out a microcode update to correct a Cool’n'Quiet bug that has been reported on the Athlon II X2 model 250 processor. Athlon II X2 is a pure dual-core die, so there is no chance of “unlocking” hidden cores as there aren’t any hidden in there at all.

AMD considers the core unlocking is something that’s relatively benign and gives users a shot at adding a bit of performance. Anyone would be “lucky” if they managed to unlock the cores, said Antal Tungler, Technical PR Manager for AMD in Euroland.

Ok guys,I hear this is the place for info on OC'ing and unlocking.
I'm thinking of getting a 550 to see if I can get lucky and get 4 stable cores.
I need a MB and was thinking of this budget one from Gigabyte.
It has a 710 SB with ACC in the BIOS.
I'm not looking for a monster OC,just a budget build with the chance to get the 550 unlocked and stable.
Can I get some feedback from the experts please?

You need to have a ACC SouthBridge...Sb710 or Sb750

We need info on Sb 710 Mobos unlocking.. All the Bioses ive seen have been for Sb750 Mobos ATM.

F2c might be the bios to do so. It has the same release date as the F3k on the MA790FXT-UD5P. Says it has update for 720BE which may mean unlocking. I am not sure if anyone has this board yet.

Balb0wa, I didn't go to the computer fair today, the weather was too nice to pass up a lazy day out with my mates!

As for the close up of my Phenom, I present this:

I am getting my new board later next week so I will then be able to tell you guys whether of not I can unlock mine for good.

    3- OCZ DDR3 1600 MHz 2x2 GB (4 GB toplam) OCZ3SOU16004GK

    BIOS F3K .. ACC -> Hybrid -> Auto
Gets CPU recognized as Phenom X4 BE 50 processor.. But it will not boot windows (black screen) and
safe mode startup always hangs right after loading the acpitbl.dat file..
Also Slax linux from USB stick does not boot either. It hangs sometimes at "Booting processor 2/2" or
    "Booting processor 3/3" with different ACC % settings (-2% , 4% etc.)

I have also tried to reduce CPU /HT frequencies, increasing CPU/NB Vcore to no avail..

So is there any chance to let it boot or should I give up having a faulty 3rd and/or 4th core?

    Thanks.
Hmm interesting stepping, first time i've seen that one. Sounds exactly like one of my faulty cpu's. Did the exact same thing, which I gave up on. Looks like you've got a dud core(s).
