You're gonna have bucket loads of fun installing that thing Marin. Good luck getting the 4870X2's clamps back on.

dng, everyone I know who has got one (including myself ) has been blown away by how cool it keeps the card and how quiet it is. It's magnificent after you get past installation

Yes it is a pain putting those X-cross supports on to hold the heatsink onto the PCB. It took me an hour to do it and I ended up breaking a screw, Thank god there was the same screw in the stock hatsink around the fan, if not I would have been screwed. But so far so good it is keeping my card nice and chilly

Awesome...im thinking on getting this cooler...the stock cooler on the 4870x2 is unbearable at high speeds...hair dryer kind of thing.

C'mon guys..where are those pictures? What about temps?. ...does it comes with some kind of cooler for the mosfets?

Mine came in last week - crossed paths with the 4870X2 that's being RMA'd, so it will be a while before I can install. Couldn't believe what a monster this thing is! Glad to hear it is quiet and doing a good job of keeping things cool.

Um there is a pic of it installed...

EDIT: Then it's all good now. Yeah, the cooler is that massive that it's hard to see the card. But one things for sure, it is insanely quiet and cools extremely well. At 100% fan speed it's quieter than the stock cooler at 30%.

If you still have a 4870x2 with a stock cooler and have no plans of going water, this cooler is a must.

very artistic photo Marin. i might use it as a desktop background if you don't mind . so it was easy for you to install huh. for every, everything was fine until i had to install the X brackets back on. that was an experience. i never sweat so much before installing a piece of hardware . i actually had to go back and adjust one of the brackets. anyhow, my results are, idle cpu1 41, cpu2 43 and fan is at 50%. i didn't have time to take the load temperature, but i will report back. all in all, it's a great cooler. the best alternative to going water cooling. i definitely recommend this cooler if you have a 4870x2. btw, i had to use the 3 screws from the stock fan. the screws for the X brackets are too short.

I thought getting the x brackets on was really easy. Just as easy as it was the first time when I reapplied TIM for the stock cooler.

I was getting in the 100's when running Furmark regular with no Stability test or Xtreme Burn in, although when I run 3dmakr vantage at 860-940 I get temps on the VR's and VRM's at 80 and no higher, so I think Furmark is throwing my Vr's temps up very high for no reason.

    Absolutely quiet. Like mentioned above
100% on the accelero fan speed is as quiet if not quieter then 30-35% on old heatsink!!! My load temps are low in the 50s (this is overclocked!). About furmark: even with stock heatsink the vdcc temps reaches 100c. Pay no attention to this though as it will have no effect on gaming since nothing uses the card like furmark. Also a question:

Did you guys use the 8 pin to 6 adapter (I don't know why they did this) or stick in the 8 pin? If you use the 8 to 6 then what are your maximum overclock clocks?
