    DFI X48 LT T2R - 8GB of ram?

I want to upgrade to 8gb (4 x 2GB) of ram. I can't add in anymore OCZ Flex ram as the heatsinks are too big. I am currently water cooling my CPU and NB.

What is realistically the fastest 4 x 2GB of ram the X48 NB can handle? I was hoping to reach 1185mhz, but I don't know if it's possible.

There's no point spending the extra money on a high speed kit, if Im limited my the NB. For video editing, I would prefer more ram over faster ram if it comes down to that.

OCZ Blade low-voltage. Not a bad price for a kit of this caliber.

I was looking at the blade series as I like OCZ ram. The 1.8v appeals to me, but I am not sure if 8gb's of the stuff would be stable in my mobo.

Why wouldn't it be? There's more than a few reports of 8GB running at DDR2-1200 on P45. On your X48 you should be able to get 1150 out of it without much tweaking, though you may have to increase your northbridge voltage a little - but that's true for running 8GB in general.

the x48 lt is also a very strong ram clocking board, it has sufficient ram power phases to properly run 8gb and I am sure you will be able to clock the sticks very well.

Why cant you run 8gb of flex in your current board?? I've got 8gb n my DKX48+ with no issues, and have also used the same ram in a MFII, Rampage Formula, and a P5E.....

Yep, the heatsinks on these bad boys are massive, otherwise I would just get another set. I have been looking into getting 8gb of the blade series, but over here in the UK only the 9200 is available at a decent price. I might wait for Newegg to get the 9600 back in stock and get my friend to order it for me. the £'s getting stronger they say.

Sorry, I should of stated that I have 8GB of OCZ FLEX 9600 in the above mentioned boards, maybe the "older" style flex heatsinks are bigger??
