Help me stabilize my X2 550 unlocked.

    G'day,

Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice to try & stabilize my X2 550. Unlocked the additional 2 cores, now here's the fun part.

Core 0 & 3, can Orthos/SuperPi all day long. Pretty much anything.
Core 1 Instant Orthos error & instant round errors running SuperPi.
Core 2 Instant Orthos error BUT can run SuperPi all day long

Bios ACC is set all cores to -2%. Have tried all cores 0% - 12% seems to make no difference what these are set on.

Currently 3.2Ghz/1.45v bios set. Which should be stacks for 3.2Ghz. Have tried underclocking also but same symptoms...

The below pic affinity set Core 0 & 3 running Orthos. SuperPi is running Core 2, core 1 is Idle.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

Yeah I did think that & I'm pretty sure that could be the problem.

But hey you never know, someone might know somthing that I don't.. Did you think of that?

I reccon you should look in if you can disable cores in windows boot up parameeters, or anything like that, or run ACC hack that actually will make the 4th core not run at all.

then you got one core for free, thats 40 bucks straight in youre pocket

What motheboard do you have? Try again 6% on ACC from what i know it is the seting which bring the best stability..
Try with HTT LINK at 1800(instead of 2000) and NB frecuency at 1800 to, just lower the multiplier of them..i thinking at first Deneb 920& 940 which have a little lower HTT and NB(1800) frecuency... may be that two cores can do much-2000
And may be try out different bioses for you MB may be there's one which brings more stability..

so cores 0 and 2 are fine?

but 2 was disabled by factory right? but still core 1 fails? lol i think amd went backwards or something?

what are ur known stable mem speeds? what is nb volt? what is idle and load temps? post ur mem settings.

Have you tried raising the NBvolts above the stock 1.2v setting. The other two cores possiable bieng week,,may need something like 1.34 maybe even higher NBvolts, this may help the IMC with them .

I was under the impression these were from 955/945 batches with disabled cores.. which mean you shouldnt need High NBvolts,, but if there Week you will.

Also +2 +4 or +6 may help as well. I always run Auto or +ALLcores . My M3A was very buggy with my 720,,the UDP4 with correct Bios lets it perform like a normal 4core @ 3600+.

You may also need to keep NB @ 1800-2000 max . Who Knows.

I Have one on the Way will see what 2cores can get me on the Top End , Then ill play the Lotto and see what i get.

. If mine unlocks added Bonus.

Core 0 & 3 are perfect. Mem is not an issue as I'm only chaning the multi, so ram is running at stock the whole time.

Motherboard is MA790FXT-UD5P. I'll give this a crack.

Ok nothing worked. Exactly the same no matter what I try. I think it's safe to say that they are just faulty.

I have had 5 of these so far. 3 of them where able to unlock but where unstable, 2 of them refuse to boot.

I think getting an unlocked one with fully functional cores, you will have to be extremely luckey

I will continue to test these as I get them through thanks to customers ordering them

Did you try them all on the same board?

Yes all in the same board MA790FXT-UD5P. They all have different instability issues. One crash loading Windows (refuse to boot in), one boot into Windows but crash if I try to do anything, one can boot into Windows at 3.8Ghz & do some basic things even SPi but anything stressful will result in a bluescreen.

So out of 5 none have been able to unlock successfully enough to do any benching.

At any frequency? ... if your getting specific core errors, have you tried individually clocking them in AOD?

You should really try another board. It's a bitt odd that 5 out of 5 can't be unlocked. Considering other results on this forum, I'm beginning to think that your motherboard has issues. If you tried everything you can whit this one, try another board just to be sure.

He's trying to unlock them, he can't do that via AOD.

At any frequency. Yes I have tried individually underclocking the faulty core(s) back to 2ghz & they do exactly the same thing.

Really don't think it's motherboard related. I've also tried all 4 different bios's with each individual chip. The reason I say this is because they all have different instability issues which have to be core related.

If I was getting the same issue with all 5 cpu's then yes I would believe that the motherboard is suspect. But they are all different.

You can individually adjust the multi per core in AOD.

edit: Yes you can enable ACC in AOD & core %'s.

You're probably right then. It's a pitty, this lowers the percentage of succesfull unlocks on XS and in general

Good to know about ACC and AOD, didnt know that

Indeed I was hoping for at least one of them to unlock successfully but it didn't happen.

    DANG Honda

Im @ 3500mhz 1.35volts NB2200mhz 1.1v,,bumping it up with MHZ. Ill add volts once i get there

    C-BuZz,,

Also try Default Volts with AUTO ACC or +2 allcores.

800ram divider or 1066 stock ram timing and NB @stock untill you get it stable.
