Old thread but trying to fix an issue with my new GTX 670. Everything seems to work ok, except I can only get x8 pcie speeds. Pop my old 4850X2 and goes right back to x16. Any ideas or am I SOL? Just don't want to have to get whole new system to run this new card...seems DFI support is totally dead.

I think you will find Peen that most of us old DFI guys gave up running this mobo long before DFI made it clear that they had given up on us.
I know a 5970 runs fine at 16x on this mobo, but anything past that is pure guesswork i think.
As you know, no point in looking to DFI for an answer..................they don't give a monkeys.

For what it`s worth, my GTX480`s ran SLI @ 16x 2.0 switching to 16x, and up again.
Never could lay my finger on it.
    Performance was good though

    Longshot but worth a go........

I had a similar issue with a 4870x2 it turned out that too much voltage was causing the card to drop to x8........ only problem is I dont remember which voltage!!!!

Not sure it will help but do you have the Molex plugged into the motherboard near the PCIe slot - my old DFI DK X58 had two of them and as I started with 2 GTX260 in SLi I always had two Molex from PSU connected even when I changed to a single GTX470.
