Did you use C1E ? if so than yes low idle vcore with vcore jumping higher when cpu loaded is normal

Some High Uncore frequency testing http://i4memory.com/f83/i7-x58-mem-f...equency-18156/

My Dfi UT T3H8 will be here Thursday.
First I had Asus P6T, TDP limit kept OC down. Then Gigabyte UD5 great 24/7 overclock, 4.6 Ghz, but had problems with high B clock + high ram frequencies. Then Evga Classified, think I just recieved a dud board, and New egg RMA ed it, but since no replacement in stock. lol. So hopefully the DFI will be a good compromise of all my previous boards.

Bleargh, it sucks when hardware decides to die just when you're starting to make some progress. A word of warning from me: be careful with your Elpida Hyper based memory. It seems like these IC's are accidents waiting to happen! I had a 0.01v overvolt on mine when one stick died, and googling the problem reveals many cases of dead Elpida Hyper memory.

Wow very nice ram. What would you recommend sub $100.00 range? If thats even possible.

i.e. 19x200bclk might be fine with 1.37v cpu vtt, but 20x200 bclk might need 1.39-1.47v cpu vtt, 21x200bclk might need 1.39-1.55v cpu vtt. All depends on your individual cpu. Also cpu vtt voltage needed will also depend on your uncore frequency. The higher QPI frequency the more cpu vtt volts is needed. The higher the uncore frequency more vdimm is needed. (2nd link first post, in post #3 http://i4memory.com/f55/intel-core-i...ide-x58-13051/)

For prime95, linx, hyperpi stability again mentioned in 3rd link in first post in this thread http://i4memory.com/f80/i7-920-d0-df...ability-16617/ (everything you ever you need are in first post's links
Nothing, im stuck in 3,8. I try almost every vtt/vcpu combination, even with ram at x6 instead x8, with more voltage in nb, but my cpu donīt like 4ghzs. Im limited by my cpu temps, that are insanely high for my cooling, reaching >84š easily in linx

Maybe its time to try a 920 D0 or one of those great w3520

You can try gskill trident 1866 cl9 or pi white 1600 cl8.

Loving this DFI UT X58-T3EH8 + W3520 + Corsair Dominator GT 2000C7 combination even more. How's Uncore frequency @4600Mhz with QPI frequency @4140Mhz with 230bclk straight boot from bios for Super Pi 32M and 3dmark06 on water cooled cpu!

    • Uncore Frequency = 4600Mhz
    • QPI Frequency = 4140Mhz

    Super Pi 32M

    Everest Bandwidth

    3dmark06 single HD4870x2 stock

    System:
    • Intel Xeon W3520 3845A935 D0 (Xeon equivalent of Core i7 920 D0)
    • EK Supreme LT 1366 / FESER 480 / MCP655
    • DFI UT X58-T3EH8 04/28 beta
    • HD4870x2 (HIS 4870X2 to Asus Top bios) with ATI WinXP 9.5
    • 6GB Corsair Dominator GT DDR3-2000Mhz 7-8-7-20
    • 750GB Samsung SATAII
    • Silverstone OP1200 PSU
    • Triple boot - WinXP Pro SP3 / Vista Ultimate 64Bit SP2 / Win7 Ultimate 64bit RC

    edit: W3520 @4877Mhz H20 http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=226137

    Max Validation @4877Mhz at 1.584v

    Max Uncore Frequency @4645.6Mhz

    Max Bclk Validation

So far 235bclk is max for validation. Messing with voltages to see if I can get more

After countless nights of researching motherboards I finally ordered this one. I am excited lol.

What bios is recommended with a I7 920 D0? Can you post links to the one recommend? thanks.

have you disabled all current and thermal over protections ? tip #4 at http://i4memory.com/102537-post3.html (worthy link to bookmark and read)

    thanks

Now that I started testing my uncore frequency overhead on W3520, thought I'd see how far I can push it on regular water cooling.

Dropped bclk to 210-214 and bumped uncore multiplier from 16x default with 8x mem multiplier, to 22x uncore multiplier and managed to push it to @4663Mhz uncore frequency Super Pi 32M stable, @4707Mhz for 4M stable and Everest and screenshot @4760Mhz uncore frequency !!!! Had to jack up both CPU VTT and VDIMM voltage to reach such uncore frequencies

    Uncore frequency = 4663.5Mhz

    Uncore frequency = 4707.8Mhz

    Uncore frequency = 4760.2Mhz

They are starting to show up on some boards now. But, they do not make any difference in clocking, why this rumor continues to live on is beyond me.

That one and a couple of others, which is why I know Intel and the motherboard guys were right about B3. Actually Intel was emphatic that D0 would make a big change in clocking but the B3 stepping on the X58 was to address several PCIe power state changes and a couple of QPI errors, it was never about performance. I stated that a few months back but what the hell do I know.

Unfortunately no such cooling available to me as yet. But I'll still push in on water cooling - weekend night time forecasts very nice cold temps - going for 4800+mhz 32m pi

qpi errors - maybe fixes allow high QPI frequency head room/bclk hence higher potential clocks ??? We can always hope
