    This OC any good?

After a whole day of OC, this is what I ended up with. CPU-NB is at x12, 1.35v ( i don't know what default vlotage is for the NB so I used settings for them that I saw someone else use for the same cpu, under the same circumstances). Ran OCCT for 16min to see if it's stable, and it passed, I think now it's time for another full hour of OCCT and then Prime95 Priority 10 torture test.

It is my first overclock so don't be too hard on me. :] Some tips on how to make it better could be nice.

do you have ACC? set it to auto to see if you can unlock those other 2 cores, as for everything else it seems fine

i'm not sure if it's gonna be stable if I unlock, anyway it does't bother me. I kinda like it with 2 cores.

Sunbeam core contact freezer 4 1.5 rpm.

    Stable for 16min of OCCT.

I might go for 2 hours of priority 10 torture test, but for my needs (gaming, work ect.. ... not a server PC) I think it's stable enough...but on the other hand if it's not stable then my oc isn't complete...meaning it's cheap and wimpy making me a noob.

    4 cores @ 3.6gig is better than 2 @ 3.9gig, you should try it

Interesting. I guess I might try that. Do I keep the CPU-NB and RAM settings as they are? Just tone down the multi and unlock the 2 cores? Or Do i return everything to default except the multi which will only be changed to achieve 3.6Ghz. (I do hope I 3.6Ghz + 4cores requires less voltage as I am not too comfy with my current one..as I don't even know if it's 100% stable yet. rofl.

Just gotta finish with my gpu and I'll get working on this new idea.

I tried the 3.6Ghz + 4 cores. Didn't work out too well. Was kinda messed up, and I can't monitor the temps. I couldn't make it stable...it would crash within 2 minutes so I decided it wasn't worth it and returned to my old 3.9ghz + 2 cores. I find it nice this way. Changed the ram clocks to 8-8-8-20. Here is final results. [IMG][/IMG]

I think I may be going way over my head, but I gotta ask, how would I get 3.9Ghz + 4 cores, and make it stable. I've seen that ppl have gotten it to 4.0G + 4 cores on air so it is technically possible. I'm not gonna ask for 4G lol. Pc doesn't even boot with when I oc to 4 so 3.9Ghz might be possible but I really gotta ask before I go ahead with it (i ever).

It depends on your chip. I have a 550 here that isnt even stable at stock with all four no matter what you do to try and help it. I managed to pull 3.7 out of it on all 4 by upping the multi and waiting for a blue screen, but was no where near stable. But I can OC it to 4Ghz no problem on only 2.

I can't. I get bsod no matter what I do. The only thing that changes is how many more seconds before bsod.

    Looks like a great OC.

Only advice would be to fine tune the ram a bit more and up that NB frequency.

Wouldn't that be high compared to the cpu speed. I read Dolk's guide on overclocking and theres a table that shows cpu speed - nb frq.

EDIT: I pushed it to x13 = 2600mhz. If that works...then why is Dolks table off?
Also I tried 7-7-7-20 with my ram yesterday along with the x13, and my PC didn't even post. I had to clear cmos....now that only x13 works I know it's the ram...does it need more juice?

was on stock voltage...I guess I could jolt 'em a bit.

EDIT: K I had to up the voltage to ~1.77 so that it would boot on 7-7-7-20-38 1T clocks
Specs for my sitcks says that stock voltage is 1.8v and stock clocks 6-6-6-20. Crucual though, made a failsafe devide that makes ur ram run underclocked so that you don't have problems if you use it, then if you want you can manualy put it on stock...I guess mine is ok since it's stuff under the 1.8v and under the clocks it's supposed to run at.
