    Quiet 850W+ PSU

    Hello!

I've got a choice between these 4 PSUs:
    Xilence 1000W Gaming Edition
    Corsair 1000W HX
    Antec TruePower-Quattro 850W
    Cooler Master 900W Ultimate

I'm looking for the most quiet one of the bunch, so anyone has any experience with any of those/suggestions/advice?

    Thanks

Corsair HX1000W is totally silent. Even under load i cant hear the fan spin up over my 800rpm and 1200rpm Scythe S Flexs.

using my enermax revolution 85+ 950w and 1050w models lately and I can put my ear right up to the PSU and still struggle to hear its fan. Definitely as quiet as my HX 1000 and better efficiency = less heat from the PSU.

I'm literally limited to those listed above so enermax is sadly out of the question.

Seems I'll be going with corsair then, it's even the most future-proof of the 4 so that's definately an extra

    Thanks for the advice guys

P.S. : I'm buying in 2-3 day time, so I'm still open to suggestions

if you have access to it, zalman 850-hp works wonders and is silent. No adjectives needed here, it just doesn't make noise.

I haven't used the 1000HX, but if it's anything like the 620HX it'll be kickass and quiet!

    Rampage Gene III
    12GB Dominator (8-8-8-24 @ 1600 @ 1.64V)

I'll second that! Quiet is number #1 for me.

If you really are limited to those 4 above (for whatever reason) the Corsair is your only choice really. Coolermaster 1KW unit I had sucked (very loud and crappy fan), the Antec isn't quiet either and well... we don't really need to talk about that Xilence.

Otherwise the Enermax Revolution series is currently one of the best there is, has a slight edge on the Corsair on both efficiency and noise. Zalman 850 and 1KW units are extremely quiet as well but not quite as efficient.

Lastly, there is the Seasonic M12D-850. 80+ silver specs, this is what the HX1000 is based on

Glad you winked, because the HX1000 is NOT based on the Seasonic M12D or any other Seasonic design.

The Corsair HX1000 is based on a CWT PUC design, using two discrete 500W PUC power supplies tied together to provide the 1kw rating.

Oh right, my mistake. TX650/750 and HX1000 are CWT-based.
Which actually makes the M12D the better (more efficient) PSU tho, along with the Enermax Revolution series

You sure about that? HX520/620 are Seasonic, TX750 is CWT (that I am 100% sure of) - never had a TX650 but thought it was identical to the 750...

there has been a LOT of confusion over it as some reviews stated the OEM incorrectly and so everyone had info back up that it was both CWT and seasonic, but oklahomawolf has confirmed it is a Seasoning OEM in the tx650, and he is the go to guy for PSUs
