[56k lol] Thunderstorm in a Box

I gotta thunderstorm... in a box! I was flying back from Miami on Friday and had to check 4 items (2 suitcases, the LCD, and that box--my tower) plus carry on 2 more. That's the result. Needless to say, the tower won't be flying again.

    My toys:
    Asus Sabertooth X58 | Core i7-950 (D0) | CM Hyper 212+ | G.Skill Sniper LV 12GB DDR3-1600 CL9 | GeForce GTX 670-2048MB | OCZ Agility 4 512GB, WD Raptor 150GB x 3 (RAID0), WD Black 1TB x 2 (RAID0) | XFX 650W CAH9 | Lian-Li PC-9F | Win 7 Pro x86-64
    Gigabyte EX58-UD3R | Core i7-920 (D0) | Stock HSF | G.Skill Sniper LV 4GB DDR3-1600 CL9 | Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB | WD Caviar 80GB IDE, 4TB x 2 (RAID5) | Corsair TX750 | XClio 188AF | Win 7 Pro x86-64
    Dell Dimension 8400 | Pentium 4 530 HT (E0) | Stock HSF | 1.5GB DDR2-400 CL3 | GeForce 8800 GT 256MB | WD Caviar 160GB SATA | Stock PSU | (Broken) Stock Case | Win Vista HP x86
    Little Dot DAC_I | Little Dot MK IV | Beyerdynamic DT-880 Premium (600 Ω) | TEAC AG-H300 MkIII | Polk Audio Monitor 5 Series 2's

I think you need to print the "fragile" in 200 Front so they can see.

    You'd be surprised...

    The damages:
    -A lot of wet clothing
    -Ruined my digital camera
    -Still sore
-Stripped an aluminum thumbscrew and seemed to remove the threading on the chassis
-A good bit of water in the plastic bag...
-I found I forgot a blank CD in the tray............

    I'll continue later.

That sucks, airlines suck to be more exact. Sorry about your losses, are you going to try and dispute it?

I've always thought the best thing to ship a computer in on a plane would be a pet carrier, because only real dicks would throw around a box that says "LIVE PET" on the side.

The airlines are absolute monsters. The violence of the luggage handlers towards luggage is obscene, and they should all be fired immediately. My old high school orchestra recently went to europe, and the kids were forced to sit in the airport and watch the luggage handlers violently throw their 5k+ cellos into and around the plane. Unsurprisingly, several of them wound up in complete splinters on the other end, and these things get packed WELL. Luckily, when I went a few years before, they only managed to completely demolish my case.

And then the airlines wonder why they're all going bankrupt... maybe they should take a glance at the carnage their employees wreak on the tarmac.
