    TRUE120 1366 backplate with X58-UD4P

should the TRUE120 1366 backplate fits fine? I see from this picture that the backplate will contact the motherboard solders ??

My mugen2 backplate presses against solders on the mobo. No problems so far. This is with Asus p6t deluxe v2. They did with ud4p as well.

The Thermalright LGA1366 backplate kit works 100% fine on the Gigabyte EX58 boards. I am using one on my UD5 and did not have issues with the solder points.

I'm talking about this solders as when you put the 1366 backplate, the backplate cover them and they are little long and they can touch the backplate

take a pair of side cutters and cut those little solder teets off.

unless you have abnormally long leads on those caps, there is plenty of clearance. and if you do have abnormally long leads, do as RM said above and take some side cutters and snip them. only do that if you need to though as you could fracture the solder joints...not likely but definitely do-able.

here is an image of my UD4P and the TRUE backplate to illustrate the clearance...

like i said, plenty of room
i don't quote in my signature, but best WR ever...

doesn't get any better than that lol, nice. They are fairly long though, I had the same concern with the Extreme/w GTZ backplate, but a nice sharp set of side cutters took care of it. And yes, be careful with cutting posts, no bend action just straight quick snips.

Yes, and I'm saying they don't pose a problem with the Thermalright mounting bracket, or at least they weren't on my motherboard. They ARE a big problem with Swiftech's mounting bracket though.
