Brands matter, but that wasn't my point. It is ludicrous because even the ignorant customers now know that a "netbook" need not cost that much.

Point is, some people don't pay for a stupid little logo unless it carries warranty, or quality or whatever else behind it.

if apple would improve their customer support and warranty, id actually consider the price premium justified, but i heard so many nightmare stories about warranty and support... i really dont see the point in paying that much extra... sure their hardware is engineered very well, so is their software, but its not perfect, nothing ever is, and IF something goes wrong, competing manufacturers tend to offer you the same or better support, so... idk... im tempted to buy an apple macbook air and iphone, but things like this really hold me back...
