Hello there, wow my first post here!

    I picked up a set of OCZ Blade LV as well, I'm currently at 1240mhz 5-5-5-18 @ 1.9v. Performance level 8 and 465 FSB x 2.66. Mobo used is a Gigabyte EP45 UD3P.

Oh and I haven't maxed them out yet.

Showing a screen is nice but is there any form of stablity? I'd like to see DDR1250 5-5-5 stable at resonable voltage, i couldn't pull that off.

Ok, just did that. It's memtest 2.11+ stable, full run. Same settings as in previous post.

    Thanks for the welcome

Edit: if you want I can take a picture with my digital camera from memtest?

    Lovely, just beautiful.

Run a couple (dual core) or four (quads) instances of HCI Memtest in Windows & take a screenie after it hits 100%+

I think i'm going to have to buy two 2x2 GB kits of this stuff.
    Too tempting.

Just don't really want to go thru eBay or no name stores...hoping it shows up @ NCIX/DirectCanada/MemoryExpress/etc soon.

That's too bad because I just tried 1264mhz and I get 18 errors. So 1261mhz is my max at 1.9v

I could of course pump up the voltage a bit more, but I'll play nice and not cross the maximum voltage too much

Nice one AA, do they get hot with 1.9V? Gonna try 1.9V too soon.

Not entirely true, but it's nice to see this kit do 500MHz CL4, considering it's using 2GB sticks.

From what I heard all of the kits should be using black PCBs.

I very much appreciate a detailed review of things
We don't get enough people willing to spend that time, so it's a good thing you are taking the time.

My post wasn't directed at you though...

I've already done the "scientifics" for Intel chipsets for years now.
The best performance always comes from higher speeds vs. tighter timings, so for myself & who i was replying to (18 is # 1), that's mainly what i look for.

    Keep the good stuff coming.
Okay, I'm relieved that some people like a detailed test.
You are right about the Intel chipsets, higher frequencies beat tighter timings most of the time, but I wanted to include CL4 tests for the reason given some posts earlier.

Tony has done some 8GB testing on AMD, look in his thread in the AMD section.

Didn't you test with 1.9V already?
Yes, the heatspreader gets quite hot, shows how effective OCZ's heatspreader is, but I was pretty surprised to see them get that hot with a "low" voltage of 1.90V.

Added a new highest frequency for CL5 at 1.80V, sorry I didn't have time to test more this week.

They are hot at 1.9V cause these chips are made by smaller process than others.. eg. heat is concentrated in much smaller area than other chips.. Decreasing size of chips has some disadvantages.. Would be nice with some Thermalright coolers.

The Blade spreaders are very similar to the Mushkin Ascent's. They do not run very warm.

Ehm.. Mushkin Ascent has vapor chamber. Thats not even little bit similar..

Plus as much as I know .. Mushkins run at much higher voltages than this.

Doesn't matter.. I wouldn't try more than 1.9V withou air cooling or better heatspreaders. (btw. Thermalrights mem cooler are able to cool memory at 2.6V, tried with my D9GKX).

But 1.9v should be safe right? I mean, if the EVP goes to 1.85v I think an additional 0.05v wouldn't do too much harm. Most boards overvolt the ram anyway.

Yeah but anything past 1.9v won't gain you any performance, just heat. At least I think it's the conclusion that everyone came up with.

As I have Ascents, I'm pretty familiar with them. My comment was to suggest their size and temperature characteristics are like the Mushkin.

I have the G-Skill PI 8800's and I can confirm they are absolutely not the same. My max clock with them at performance level 8 was 1130mhz (1170mhz with PL9), and the OCZ Blades do 1261mhz with that. Massive difference.
