I dont have a classified, but those fets appear to be for the ICH (SB) and it would be odd IMO if they were at 65*C, since there shouldn't be much load on them and the ICH voltage should be stock or close to it. What was the solution you found on evga forums?

If anyone can post some advice to obtaining 220+ FSB / BCLK speeds, I'm stuck at 218.

    I have setup in signature, evga e760, i7 920 cpu, corsair gt ddr3 memory 7-7-7-20 1600mhz 1.65v running it at 7-8-7-24-84
    I'm also running crossfire with 2 x 5870 cards.

I read that when running crossfire, it is necessary to increase IOH/ICH..etc voltages a few ticks to prevent BSODs related to video card, etc. So I have done so.
I have 1.45625V cpu (appears to be fine) and 1.65v ram. RUnning 20x multiplier cpu, 220 fsb/bclk, 16x QPI multi, 2:8 ram divider so my ram is 1762mhz,

next time it BSOD me, I will see if I can remember to write down the code. However, what is happening is I test it simply by playing bad company 2. After about 20minutes of playing, it will just lock up video wise, audio will continue and the screen just stays on the last picture/frame I was looking at. It will eventually BSOD.

    thoughts?

    3. What the heck is the deal with the 20x multiplier then?

It is the DRAM multiplier and BCLK that people are combining with it that causes problems when combined with the QPI multiplier and the Uncore speed. Therefore, remembering our (safe) ratios of 8:9 Uncore to QPI we see that the QPI link speed must be a minimum of 3.6GHz or higher. In case of 20x200MHz the Uncore and QPI are exactly in this ratio and with the added stress on the core, cache, IMC, DRAM, etc. this becomes a problem. At this point clock oscillations become much more prominent and if the QPI link speed falls below the 9:8 ratio to Uncore at any point in time combined with the added stress on the components the system can and likely will become unstable. Hence, at 20x200MHz with a default memory, Uncore and QPI multipliers we cannot really have a 100% stable system.

Indeed, the highest reliable BCLK for default multipliers when using 20x core multiplier is 181MHz which with a 22x QPI multiplier would result in 3.982GHz QPI link. Even if you could set QPI multiplier to 20x, this would still not work for 99% of the boards out there as your QPI link would still be 4.0GHz. So what is the solution you ask? Memory multiplier. It needs to be lower. 1600MHz DRAM is approaching the maximum stress point for 20x200MHz core settings as it pushes on the limits of Uncore and QPI too much. By using a lower memory multiplier (say 6x if possible) the DRAM speed would become 6x200MHz or 1200MHz, Uncore could then be set at 2.4GHz with a lower multiplier which would then allow the QPI link to stay at 18x and well below the QPI link limits but still in a stable ratio to the Uncore.
Guess I need to lower my Ram Multi. This is my conclusion. And in turn, lowering it, couldn't I bump my speed past 220 easily?

1.44v cpu, +75mv VTT. 1.65v DRAM and you should be good for 4ghz if not 4.2ghz

Might need a bit more juice on the VTT and PLL as well. The 940's were a bit of a pig. Also, running an odd number bclk and multiplier seems to be key on those cpu's. Along the lines of 191x21, no Turbo mode as the 22x multi is pretty much bunk.

A couple of days ago i flashed s61j bios. I used to have s61b. With the j bios i need more vcore for the same cpu speed. Is this possible?

Ok so these are temps @ idle ..They average around in the 30s.. I was running a stress test using prim95 under the Blend option and at max load the highest temp i saw was 73C but aveage temps under 100% load was around 65-69... Are these goods temps? and what temps should i look out for? And after about 30 minutes of the stress test , and my stupid virus scanner scanning my comp at the same time i was browing the net and all of a sudden i got the BSOD.. Any ideas?

Not really... D is pretty good also, I think.
The latest BIOS has some adjusted voltage regulations, and doesn't seem to be bad. It has some VT issues, however.

Is G any good? I've been debating on whether to update/roll back or not.

a VERY good read on i7 stability and tweaking is in the first post on this thread, on the very last link titled "and this guide"

that will get everyone set on multipliers & where numbers need to be. I have started to play around quite a bit with multipliers and settings.
As I have a 920, I can only change my memory multipliers & my memory speed to increase my CPU speed & memory speed.

I'm shooting for BOTH fastest memory & cpu speed that is stable on my system. I was at ~4.3ghz and my memory wast at 1736 mhz (corsair 7-7-7-20 1600mhz ddr3) at 7-8-7-22-74 1.65v and the system flew. I believe this is my peak for both.

I will try and post up an excel sheet (still working on it) that you can put in what you would like to run and you can check your numbers to ensure the correct ratios if it will be stable (read the link I mentioned above).

I honestly hope to be able to purchase the i7 980 cpu in the next few months and get to clocking....but we will see

My sata ports got ruined, raid 0 gave an error, error occoured 0, I rebuilt the raid, reinstalled windows, rebooted and got the same error, reinstalled windows and one drive performed worse than the other, took the drives out and tested them on my x58 ud3r and both performed great again. I got an rma from evga already, board should be here next week, I'm guessing my sata ports got messed up, even tried different cables. Anyone have this happen to you with this board, the e760.

    Hi My friend

My problem transistor temperature was near the ICH,not the ICH temperature
(MOSFETtemp is 68c But ICH Temp is 44c)

So would you guys recommend the 1T or 2T setup on the command rate of the memory setting? I have seen a few people run 2T CR

on x58 so far might as well run on 1N . ( 1T is a nvidia chipset thingy)
since the voltage for both is the same

eh what has the gtx285 card and 6gb ram has to do with it??

first myth .. pre rampage extreme 775 days 1N can be run on 2 sticks
than x48 rampage extreme came.. 4sticks 1N np

x58/p55.. different architecture since the imc is on the cpu.. everything runs in 1n.afaik

Thats simple !! If you got to EVGAs website they have an easy guide for it. But what i do is burn the image file to a cd, load cd in drive, restart comp, hit esc during boot up and load from cd drive and flash will begin by itself.

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/burncdcc.html Burn CDCC is a great and easy program you DL for free, open up the program, open up the saved ISO file and let it burn it on a CD-R cd and do the steps i told ya . As far as Ocing what do you have in your rig? are you air or wced , and you need to run stress tests to check stability and check temps as well.

I like Prime95 better. It never stops the load. LinX goes down to a one thread load between passes.
