    WCG/BOINC on domain controller questions

I have a Windows Server 2003 machine that used to run an older version of WCG client. One day I decided to upgrade to a newer version of WCG client, only to discover that newer versions will not run on domain controllers (after uninstalling client and deleting the installer). I found a work-around, but was unable to get it to work on my machine. I put this task on hold, and now I cannot find the work-around instructions on the internet. My questions:

Can anyone provide a concise explanation of a work-around? or, does anyone have a copy of an older version of the wcg client installer that will work on domain controllers? I don't know in what version of the client this was changed.

    Thanks

Surely WCG or whoever keeps an archive of previous client versions.
Then again, why would you want to put that kind of load on a DC. Low traffic network I presume?

the DC sits inactive for 12 hours every day - no traffic, no activity, just a defrag and a backup after hours. I could set preferences to only crunch during times of inactivity. Ill keep searching for the work around and some older client files.

I don't know what version you are looking for, but older versions can be found here http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/

Have you tried version 6.4 or 6.6? These should work on a DC.
