Acetal vs Plexi? Which one is stronger?

I've always wondered if the Acetal versions of blocks are better/stronger then the plexi versions?

Yes, Acetal can withstand more tension.

Acetal is a lot stronger. Function or looks, your choice... Usual matte black color of acetal isnt so bad.

Everybody is pretty much using Acetal from Dupont, which is Delrin. While there are stronger types of Plexiglas out there, you can bet that the acrylic blocks probably aren't using the high impact stuff. Just like they aren't using impact modified Acetal. Which is stronger than its impact modified plexi counterpart.

PS. Seriously, can we not add Delrin and Acetal to the spell checker dictionary? The red squiggly lines are annoying.

Acetal is stronger than plexi I think. Also looks better to me. And with nickel it rules.

looks like we have an obvious answer
I personally like delrin/acetal, but have ssen some sweet looking items with plexi as well. I guess it depends on what your after. I do not plan to add color to my water; so plexi would be a waste. I have also read about toom any horror stories with plexi on blocks.

plexi dose not really get much better than the stuff used in liquid cooling since it still cracks on the seams and pressure points (like screw holes), what we need is polycarbonate, but that would cost to much as would other kinds of clear acrylic. we also need rezes to be machined and not cast but that wont happen as it would be much much more expensive.
