Tripple Feser rad doesn't fit LianLi top panel?

    OK,

I got a small problem and I don't exactly know where to locate it so I'm asking you experts for some help.

    Here's the deal :

I bought a Feser triple rad about 2 weeks ago and received it last week.
I'm planning on building it into a Lian Li PC-A70B, which I purchased some time ago (already had it powder coated).
Along with the case, I bought the matching T703B top panel, which accommodates 3 x 120mm fan holes, so I can mount the radiator there.

After opening the package of the Feser, I mounted 3 Scythe S-Flex fans to it with the provided short screws from Feser.
After that was done, I placed the top panel onto the fan/radiator.

It was then that I noticed that it didn't match.
For some reason, the fans didn't align with the holes of the Lian Li top panel.

I was checking a LC worklog thread from member aCt! here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=223396

and I noticed he had no problems fitting the Feser triple rad onto a Lian Li T70103B top panel.
That top panel is for the PC-A7010B case, which is more or less the same as the PC-A70B (the dimensions of both cases should be more or less the same),
so I presume the dimensions of the provided blow and fan holes of both the T703B top panel (mine) and T70103B top panel (his) should be the same too.

aCt! kindly responded to my questions (again, thanks for that ), and knowing that Feser had 2 revisions of the Tripple rad. One with 17mm fan spacing and the newer ones (released after May 2008) with 15mm fan spacing.

I checked Feser's site and downloaded the PDF files of both revisions of the triple rad.
The problem is that I don't at which distance they measured the fan spacing.
Is it from the edge of the holes, or from the center of each hole. Confusing.

So I measured them myself, using a digital caliper and I took some pics of it.

The first pic is while measuring the distance between the Feser fan holes starting from the edge (picture will make it clearer for you).
    I measured approx. 15.08 mm.

Picture #2 show measuring the distance between the Feser fan holes, from the center of the holes (more or less).
    I measured 16.97 mm

Picture #3 shows measuring the distance between the Lian Li top panel fan holes, starting from the edge.

Picture #4 shows measuring the distance between the Lian Li top panel fan holes, starting from the center of the holes (more or less).

Picture #5 shows the panel mounted on the Feser rad. As you can see (maybe not that clear) the holes don't align.

So my question now is :
    - Can the owners of the Feser triple rads measure the distances between the fan holes, like I did?
    - Not being sure on how Feser measures the distances between the fan holes, but would it be possible that I received the older revision of the radiator (17mm fan spacing) and not the newer ones with 15mm spacing?

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do now.
I'll be contacting the shop I bought the radiator from tomorrow, hoping they can provide my more info.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Feser used to make a 17mm radiator, so my guess is you got sent an older model.. send it back for the newer 15mm units.

You have exactly the same top cover and radiator as me. You measure from center to center, so you obviously have the same 17mm rad as I have. I have a feser 240 as well and it aligned perfectly with the holes in the top cover. If you're the impatient type, it's not much work grabbing a round file and expanding the holes a little. The screw heads cover the hole quite well, so it's not too bad. A new rad is better, of course.

    Jupiler ,
I have the old Feser 360 . The fan holes measure 16.98mm ( 17 mm ) center to center . It did not make any difference to me . Because I made my own mounting pannel .
You definately have the old model and will have to exchange it for the later rad if you want use your top pannel without modding it .

Thanks for the replies, guys. Much appreciated.

I wonder where this rad came from, as the new revision has been released for 1 year now.
Probably, they found some stock left in the basement and decided to dump them to the stores.
Never thought of getting the older one, as the rads were sold out for quite some time (talking weeks).

I'm gonna give the store a call tomorrow and ask for a replacement.
I heard their service is very good, so that shouldn't give to much problems.

Thanks again, guys. I'll keep you updated.

Put it in the front of the case... It took some work, but I got mine done like that and its a beauty. I have one in front of the case and one in the back.

Saw another thread just recently where someone ordered three Feser's - two triples, one double - and one of the triples had the 17mm spacing. There's definitely a few floating around stilll, unfortunately.

    Update :

Contacted the shop I bought the radiator from (did send them an email this morning with a pic)
The shop owner first checked if he had rads with the 15mm spacing, which was the case.
He will send me a new one tomorrow, with no extra shipping fees.

I'll be sending this one back tomorrow and he'll even refund me the shipping costs.

Very friendly guy, made no problems at all. TOP notch service.
    Thanks Jochen

    Update :

    As said,

The replacement radiator was shipped the next day and it arrived last friday (he shipped it even before he got mine back).
Due to work, I was only able to pick it up today.
I got a brand new, sealed one with the 15mm fan spacing.

Like the shop owner promised, he refunded the shipping costs.
    Top notch service.
I gave him a call this afternoon to personally thank him for the excellent service he provided.

A big thanks to Herr Jochen Lorbach from http://www.a-c-shop.de for handling this small issue promptly and without any problems.

or you can copy and paste the link into Google and then click translate. It's how I got around some sites as I am linguistically retarded. I only know one language and even that is a challenge!
