You can do that with any game offering patch/update or DLC. For example UT3 did something similar with their titan pack (at a much lower price). What sells a game more is it's popularity on just it's exposure.

The game sold terrible, of course it had a lower price.

Word of mouth and popularity alone can sell the game. So a poor excuse IMO.

Word of mouth + news + free DLC = great sales. Its not an excuse.

This made no sense. Based on what this game offers I don't find it something worth their asking price

Then we disagree (if it wasn't obvious enough already). I have played it >100 hours and its still fun. Even Mass Effect didn't pack to many hours of fun.

lol, don't joke man, someone in my city has a confirmed case of swine fever, it's only a matter of time until there are deaths from this in the UK.

Back on topic I had to install L4D on a Review rig with a Samsung 22" 120Hz monitor and a pair of nVidia 3DVision specs today so I'll have to give it a through test tomorrow. Portal looks great so L4D should be amazing.

1. There is no valid proof that this technique is any better then those who provide demos before release. There are other factors you are forgetting here.

2. If they don't have to do anything they wouldn't need to try to convince more people to buy this game at a reduction from their initial price.

3. Although my opinion, their current asking price and release price is way to high.

There r rooms full with zombies. Its better to clean it out with 1 bomb then waste a crapload of bullets to kill em or worse get attacked by them + a horde or special.

Its a game best played with m8s and then hear them scream on TS ''they got me dutchy help me''

He was right... commons in a non tank situation are not dangerous, while commons with a tank are quite deadly because they stop you from moving properly. Only use pipes when you are getting screwed, not when you see some zombies.

The room i used it in usualy has some 20+ zombies in it cause most of them are high up they can be a pita to hit with guns (taking them out before they come for u).
Most of the time when we go threw it we also get hit by a horde. So combining a horde wich comes from 1 direction with the zombies wich jump down from the racks can be quite a pain.
So unles pipebombs r rly rare its always a no brainer to use one in that room.

And further u got 4 team members So 4 slots for molotovs or pipebombs.

I think its better to use one of those when there is a proper need for them then to nvr use them at all and always see those molotovs and pipes laying around and not being able to pick em up.
Ofc when playing highest difficulty when things like that are rare its ofc a entirely diffrent situation.

I'm not worried, it's just that the previous poster clearly didn't get the reference!

Noobs have their place in L4D, you've had a few matches, a few peaopl drop out so you go noob munching, it's a great way to learn new maps and you might find a decent random.

Survival is good for training noobs. So far I have two golds.

It does truely rock on a 3D screen, but having tried both currently available methods I prefer polarising glasses to shutter glasses, plus it is all format compatible (IZ3D driver for ATi should work on Zalman) and should be cheaper. The main difference is instant eye strain.

@Beavis, that puts my 3D test rig to shame!

Also making the tank more "realistic" (headshot is a headshot..) would be nice while increasing toughness of other specials and normal zombies a tad would even things out quite a bit.

Nice idea, but that is not L4D. With 128 players its just multiplayer, L4D is about the co-op. You are describing a zombie mod for BF.

I'm guessing you don't have a bunch of regular friends to play with. It's a load of fun if you're duking it out with your buddies. That said, i do have friends mad over l4d but personally could never see the hype.. or get hooked

And a completely different game. What would stop 50 survivors grouping together? Or 50 infected all attacking the same group of 4 survivors? And how is a tank supposed to deal any damage against 50 survivors? Simply put, if such a game were created, it would be very very different from L4D.

i played l4d quite a few hours yesterday. it's fun, especially survival and versus modes.

but somehow i get a bluescreen whenever i quit l4d. after closing i see a steam popup which says "l4d 40% off", but immediately after it opened i get a bluescreen that says "page fault in nonpaged area". l4d itself runs like a charme, no crashes while being ingame, it's just when i exit to windows and this crap steam message appears...
