Yeah I have seen that! I must applaud you for a really nice and "clean" build. Just the way i like it!

It was that picture and some other that made me change my mind about barbs for comps. And that was after I had ordered barbs and tubing... So DAMN YOU!

And are you using 1/2"ID 5/8"OD? tubing with that build of yours?

Would you go with 3/8"ID 5/8"OD if you where to rebuild your system? I know performance is almost the same:

So there we have it. The differences between varying tubing sizes.
So with 1/2"id fittings you gain about 0,10C compared to 3/8"id. But you loose much compatibility with 1/2" comps because of the size. And 3/8"id 5/8"od always had better kink compared to other tubing i have looked at.

The best kink for 1/2"id that virtualrain tested was 7/16"id 11/16"od tygon r3603. The listed "maximum bend radius" for that is:
    R3603 7/16"ID 11/16"OD: 1-3/8" or 3,49cm.
    And then at 3/8"id 5/8od:
    R3603 3/8"ID 5/8"OD: 1-1/8" or 2,85cm.

Even better! I can only see advantages with 3/8"Id 5/8"od compared to other sizes. Or did i miss something?

Then changed to B43 beverage, and more recently B44-4x on most recent build. Even after 9 months, the tubing is still clear, this has distilled, pt nuke, pentosin, and I cleaned wiring up.

I dont know how primochill tubing holds up in clarity, but definitely go for B44 or 3603 if tygon, and B44 is easier to work with...I use 3/8 internal, 5/8 external diam.

    tygon 3603 fresh build

    tygon 3603 after couple months

    B44-4 after 9 months
This is really a no brainier, the B44-4X even looks better after 9 months compared to a new system with tygon... It costs a bit more but that is really worth it because of the clouding!

The only thing I'm really thinking about is if I should go with the primochill pro LRT or the B44-4X. Right now I'm thinking B44-4X since I don't know how the primochill is when it comes to clouding.

That's why I opted for coloured tubing in my second builöd.
I think the B44 looks better even after 9 months than the tygon r3603 looks new. The 3603 is a bit "dull" from the start.

In that build it is 1/2" X 3/4" Tygon. I could have went thinner but since I had plenty of room I said to myself, 'What the Hell....LET's DO THIS!!! (in the best Joe Swanson voice from Family Guy)'

Well I also have plenty of space but i don't know 1/2" is 3mm thicker than 3/8". I think 3/8" will look good to. And I don't have to worry about it fitting etc.

When I decided to go to with comps instead of barbs i went "LETS DO THIS!"

Still no one that is using clear primochill PRO LRT tubing that can tell me how it is when it comes to clouding

Never used the new Primochill tubing yet myself. Have had some older red Primochill tubing but you could not tell if it clouded or not.

Well, I think I'm going with b44 anyway. It have good kink and it doesn't cloud as fast as others.

Its just what size I'm going with that I'm trying to figure out

    Not sure about 7/16

I went with 7/16th" Tygon 5/8 OD and it works pretty good on 1/2" barbs except on the pump's nylon barbs (swiftek 655) it is stretched too tight in my opinion as I noticed a couple cracks form on the edge of the barb after a week of use. Maybe I over tightened the metal hose clamps, but it looks stretched out like a mushroom on those barbs and I have my fingers crossed. Anyone else can comment on this?
