REUTERS - March 24th, 2052 - Los Angeles - Duke Nukem Forever developers maintained their claim today that the project is close to going Gold but is experiencing some unexpected delays.

Here is 3DRealms CEO Scott Miller to elaborate:

"As you can see, our release timelines have changed again..."

Milking the cash cow, that's what it all comes down to.

Anyway, one will be able to apply 16xAA and still be 120FPS+
    Are we there yet?

It actually looks good. Kind of a blend of medal of honor and f.e.a.r. The graphics are clear and crisp. Without any hdr/bloom cover ups. As for duke nukem we will probably not see it in our lifetime. Kinda like the space elevator. Maybe our grandkids final words when we are about to die. Will be a new release date.

It's not so much aliens as occult/paranormal. That was something the original wolfensten had too. It's not really a shocker that an id franchise game isn't too serious. But hopefully what is serious is the MP gameplay.

Raven is capable of making good single player stories. But no matter how good it is I will probably only play it a few times. Mp is where the long-term fun is to be had. Supernatural weapons, the veil, powers and the like can be enabled/disabled through mods and cvars. But if it at least has solid objective based gameplay at the core it should be great. We still have to see more info about MP but I hope it has, among other things:
    *Fast player movement
    *Relatively high accuracy
    *Low damage
    *Team Objective based

The engine is a bit dated but that's not really a problem IMO. Really it just means more people should be able to get a decent MP experience out of budget hardware. Even though it uses idTech4 it is an upgrade in graphics for the wolf franshise. As long as that solid gameplay is there it should be fun. And It's not a console port, it is being developed for all platforms simultaneously.

    awesome.

the graphics look fine to me. Gameplay first, and ID has been lacking in that department for years. This SP in this might be pretty good, but MP is always where its at..let's hope we don't get a gutted MP on the pc version.

in 92 when Wolf 3D came out, I had no idea at the time..my family did not even own a PC in the house. I had Nintendo of course heh. I rememeber going over to a this kids house I went to school with, jake(?) I was only like 12 years old. He was playing this in the living room and I was watching awestruck, he also had the leisure suit larry games. IT was some time later when I actually bought it on CDROM...when we had our first computer in 95.

    wow long time ago

It's not alien crap you see.. it's ancient and mythological artifacts, something that's been present in every wolfenstein game except RTCW.

About Duke Nukem Forever.. my bet is it's coming out on fall 2009.

Never played the original, but I'm going to check this one out. I think it looks fine, and I like the storyline. If it comes to Steam, I might hold out to see if they pull a L4D and put it on for half price after not too long

Yeah what's with the anti-paranormal comments, that's the meat of Wolfenstein and elevates it from an omg-not-another-fps to an exceptional experience.

RTCW's sci-fi esque weapons were on par with Half Life's, couldn't get enough of that .
